"jungkook, don't be stubborn. give up the two," jenna whined, effortlessly trying to sneak a peek at jungkook's cards. he hugged them to his chest, shaking his head, resembling an agitated, unfair, and sore loser-esque toddler. "i know you have it."
"no."
"jungkook! don't be unfair." jenna crossed her arms over chest with an annoyed huff, pulling her hand of cards into a mini deck, awaiting the two that jungkook was holding captive. "jungkook, don't make me tell jin."
"jin-hyung won't do anything, he's too involved with namjoon to think straight." jungkook teased his elder's, gesturing towards them with a head nod. jenna peered over his shoulder at the pair, and allowed a smile to creep upon her lips at the sight. namjoon was cuddled up to jin, whom was sound asleep with his head propped against the wall. if she didn't know them personally, she would've thought they were a couple.
"does he...?"
"kind of. he's not sure. he's... confused, i guess? not my problem, i'm straight." jungkook pulled his cards away from his chest and rearranged them, obviously taunting jenna with the two she so badly wanted.
"yeah, as straight as a circle." jenna muttered underneath her breath, earning a chuckle from hoseok, who seemed to be eavesdropping on their conversation.
"what're you laughing at, hobi?"
"nothing." hoseok shrugged off jungkook's question, which seemed to annoy the maknae, as he sat his cards face down on the table and slid on his butt towards his hyung. "what're you doing?"
"have i told you you're a bad liar?"
"yes, various times actually. you wouldn't let me play go fish with you all, so i'm eavesdropping." hoseok retorted, obviously annoyed with jungkook's rude rejection. "just because you're 19 now doesn't mean you have the right to speak informally to me. now, scurry off to jenna and continue your game, i'll still be over here."
jenna stifled a laugh at hoseok's sudden authority and sassiness, and she couldn't seem to scratch the image of hoseok snapping in a z shape and strutting away.
"when is taehyung getting discharged?" yoongi spoke up. jenna had forgotten completely about yoongi, as he had kept quiet the whole time they were in the waiting room.
a silent observer he was, smart boy.
"doc said sometime this evening." jungkook swiped a card from his hand and slid it across the table to jenna, who gawked at the card in front of her.
a two.
"i can't live with playing go fish for hours upon hours."
"why, because jenna wins every time?"
jungkook's nostrils flared, his cheeks flushed, and his jaw clenched as he turned and tossed his hand of cards towards hoseok, who merely let out another chuckle at the maknae's frustrated form. jungkook was a born winner, a winner that didn't except losing lightly. "shut up."
"respect your elders, kookie."
"you're only 3 years older than me, hyung." jungkook turned away from hoseok and crossed his arms over his chest with a frustrated huff.
"stop being a sore loser and just play go fish." hoseok instructed, brushing off jungkook as if he was dust on his shoulders. jungkook rolled his eyes at his hyung, scurrying forward and grabbing his cards, rearranging them in his hand.
