Annabeth's POV
"So... what do we say?" Percy asked me as we walked over to volleyball courts where the Argo crew, Calypso, Thalia, and Grover were playing.
"Let's just wing it," I responded. He looked at me like I was crazy, because I never wing anything. But this was different, so I just laughed.
"Hey Annabeth!" Thalia called out to me. "Get over here and help us crush our enemies!"
"You are so dramatic!" I yelled back, but I ran over to join her team. It was her, Grover, Frank, and Hazel.
"No way. You're going down!" Jason told his sister. His team consisted of Piper, Leo, and Calypso. "Percy, over here!"
We played an intense game of sand volleyball for a long time. We won, and Thalia sprinted under the net and attacked Jason, screaming in his ear, "WE WON, NOT YOU!"
"Those two are nothing alike," Hazel muttered.
I laughed. "Nope."
After that, we casually passed the ball back and over, but I was careful to not let it hit my bad arm. Whatever Will put on it was amazing; there was no pain to move it. But still, a beating to the wound didn't sound like a good idea.
"So," Percy said, "I take it that Tyson is still helping out Poseidon?" Tyson had gone to Poseidon's underwater palace to work with the new Cyclops' and build something for the god. He had left pretty soon after the summer had began, and I knew Percy missed him.
"Yeah," Grover replied. "I was talking to him the other night, when he wasn't busy. He's really worried about you guys."
"I'll IM him tonight," Percy promised. "Don't want to interrupt him."
"Anything exciting happen while we were gone?" I asked no one in particular when Percy and Grover were done talking.
"Not much. Well, unless you count some of the Hermes' kids falling in their own traps," Leo said with a glint in his eye. It seemed a little suspicious, but maybe he just thought it was funny. It's hard to tell with Leo.
"We saw the Stoll brothers in the infirmary," Percy muttered. I shot him a look that said why did you tell them we were in the infirmary? but luckily, I don't think anyone caught on.
"Did anything exciting happen to you two, besides everything you already told us?" Piper asked.
"Uh, well we got engaged," I said nonchalantly. "That's about it."
The effect was absolutely hilarious. It took a moment for the news to sink into all of our friends, because for a millisecond nobody reacted and just kept playing volleyball. But then they all froze and the ball hit the ground in front of Frank with a dull thud. The only noise was Percy sputtering, trying to contain his laughter at all of our friend's shocked faces. Well, almost all of our friends... Leo and Calypso looked at each other and started to congratulate us. Weird...
"I KNEW IT!" Thalia shouted, crushing me in a hug.
Piper and Hazel and Calypso were hugging me too. Piper grabbed my hand and exclaimed,
"How did I not notice before!" She examined my ring.
"That's very pretty," Calypso commented as Piper held my hand up to the light.
"Yeah, nice choice Percy," Hazel added. "I know my diamonds, too."
"Glad it meets the requirements," Percy responded with a grin.
"When can we start planning the wedding?" Piper said giddily.
"Um... now?"
My friends squealed and dragged me towards the cabins. I barely had time to look back at Percy. He was laughing hysterically and mouthed good luck!
