Percy's POV
"You finally made it happen man!" Grover said later that day.
"Finally? I think I made pretty good time!"
I'm not exactly sure what made me ask the minute I did. I guess it just felt right. And in case anything went wrong, Annabeth would have known how much I love her.
"So, have you talked about the wedding yet?" he asked.
"Not really... that's Annabeth department, the planning and stuff."
"I suppose. I wouldn't want you decorating anything. It'd be, like, all blue."
"True."
Just then I saw Annabeth and Thalia walking towards us.
"You finally did it, loser," Thalia said when she was close enough.
"You are so nice to me sometimes," I responded.
"I try, Fish Breath."
"So I've been thinking," Annabeth started.
"Shocker," I whispered. Grover snickered. Annabeth either didn't hear me or didn't care because she kept talking.
"I want to have the ceremony out by the lake and then the reception in the Dining Pavilion... if that sounds good to you." She looked at me and I nodded eagerly. She gave me a smile and opened her mouth to speak again, but Thalia cut her off with a loud gasp.
"What? What's wrong?" Annabeth asked quickly.
Thalia just clapped her hands together excitedly and rushed over to Grover. Then she started whispering in his ear and his face broke into a grin. I exchanged a look with Annabeth.
"Tell us!" I tried to demand but it came out really whiny. Annabeth rolled her eyes slightly.
"Nope!" Thalia replied, popping the P.
"It's a secret!" Grover added.
"Oh come on," Annabeth groaned, sounding as whiny as me. Our friends just shook their heads.
"Fine. You two can be meanies and plan out your little secret but Annabeth and I are going to go call Mom," I declared, standing up and pulling Annabeth to her feet. They just waved us bye and started whispering again.
"What do you think that was about?" Annabeth asks me as we start walking to my cabin.
"No idea. You ready to tell Mom?"
"I'm very ready. I think she's been waiting for this to happen since we got together."
I agreed with her, and we walked in comfortable silence for a little while. Then Annabeth piped up again.
"So who's going to be your best man?"
"Grover," I said without hesitating.
"Good. I want Thalia to be my maid of honor."
I nodded. "Everyone will understand."
"Yeah. Oh, for bridesmaids I want Piper, Hazel, Calypso, Reyna. Assuming you'll want Jason, Frank, Leo, Tyson, so we have the same number."
"Sounds perfect to me."
We reached the door to Cabin Three and went inside. Annabeth grabbed the drachmas and I created some mist. Before I knew it, I was face to face with Mom and Paul. As soon as Paul saw us, his face flooded with relief. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. He must have been really worried about us, and it probably killed him that he couldn't tell Mom. I suddenly felt terrible about it and realized it was a stupid plan. I looked at Annabeth quickly and I could tell she felt the same way as me.
