XVII: Crush

After the thing with Angelina and George I apparated to Andromeda's house and freaked out for like an hour. I couldn't believe what was happening and I was dying to tell someone. I called my owl, Sienna and wrote a note to Draco for him to meet me first thing in the morning. I could barely sleep that night. But, he met me very early and I explained what had happened.

"That's quite something, cousin." He said after I finished.

"Is that all?" I asked. "Really?!"

"What do you want me to say?"

"I don't know. An opinion maybe." I said and sighed.

"She knows you like him." He said. I nodded. "That means you're being obvious." I sighed.

"As are you, right now." I said. He rolled his eyes.

"I don't think it means anything, Gianna." Draco said. "I'm sorry but I think he just sees you like a Ginny. Maybe a less annoying Granger." I nodded, my face fell.

"You think?" I asked. "I thought that he might start seeing me in a different light now."

"You said it yourself, Gianna." He said. "He sees you as family."

"That's true." I said. "Whatever. Anyways, any idea how he knew about Daniel?" I blamed him. He shrugged.

"It wasn't me."

"It was."

"Nope." He said. "I would never tell a love interest of yours about your ex, even if it's a Weasley." I chuckled.

"Who could it have been then?"

"I think I have an idea." Draco said. "Teddy!" Teddy sprinted over. "So, do you remember Gianna's boyfriend, Daniel?" Teddy nodded.

"You liked him, didn't you?" I asked. Teddy nodded.

"Have you told everyone about how fun was summer holidays with Daniel?" Draco asked. Teddy nodded. "What about how sad you were that Gianna and Daniel broke up?" He shook his head.

"That, I only told Uncle George." Teddy said. "He asked me if Aunt Gianna was taken." My face lit up.

"Really, why is that?" Draco asked.

"I dunno." Teddy said. "But I told him you missed Daniel very much."

"When was that?" I asked. Teddy probably saw me crying or something after the breakup.

"After he and Angelina broke up." Teddy said. "Can I leave now?" I nodded.

"You see, he might be interested in me." I said. Draco shrugged.

"If you really think so."

"I don't know, Draco.." I said. "I really have no clue but I've felt something between us."

"That might be one-sided." Draco said. I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever. Just keep me grounded please." I said. "I don't want to be heartbroken if he marries another."

"Cousin, I've tried to talk you out of liking that Weasley since what happened on your first year." He said.

"You remember that?!" I asked in disbelief.

"Of course." He said. "I thought it was just a passerby crush but it came back."

"Yeah.." I said. "But thanks for reminding me! He was out of my league then, he's out of my league now." I said.

"I didn't mean it like that." He said.

"I know. But it really puts me into perspective, Draco. Thanks." I said.

"Don't beat yourself up too much, Gianna." He said as he got up. "You'll find someone." He put a hand on my shoulder and he apparated out. I sighed. Well, Ron did say it would be a while since he got a new girlfriend.. I should stop speculating and focus on finding an actual job. Hopefully I'll find one in the Magical Creatures department but not in the ministry. Maybe I could work at the Hippogriff farm. And train Hippogriffs. Perfect.

"Aunt Gianna, where did Draco go?" Teddy asked.

"He went to see Astoria." I said.

"Ew. I don't like Astoria."

"C'mon. She's okay." I said. Teddy probably overheard Narcissa talking about how much they disliked Astoria.

"But she's not cool like you!" Teddy said. "Or Aunt Ginny. She reminds me of Granger." I chuckled but felt bad.

"Her name is Hermione and she's very nice, Teddy." I said. "Remember, she's probably going to marry Uncle Ron."

"You're right, Aunt Gianna." He said. "You're still cooler than her. But Aunt Ginny lets me ride her broom." I laughed.

"Hey! I let you ride Howl." I said. He laughed.

"Aunt Gianna, tell me about my mummy." He said. I hated this question. Not because of Tonks but because I felt like my stories didn't do her justice.

"Well, your mum was the funniest person I ever met." I said. "She was also the clumsiest just like you and me." Teddy chuckled. "She took me to my first rock concert. My parents hated rock music so I went behind their backs. They grounded me for three months after that. Your mum was so cool, she would've wanted me to take you to your first concert and that's what I'll do. You know, she could change her appearance just like you."

"Wow! Mummy sounds way cooler than you." Teddy said. I chuckled.

"She definitely was, kid."
