The distraction lasted only a few minutes as the song came to its end. George went his own way to his former classmates while I went to the loo to fix my makeup. My mind was racing, remembering the way that everyone looked at me and George. His family mostly with a disappointed expression, his friends confused, Angelina with grief. It made me shiver just to think about it. I felt someone enter the restroom and looked back to see Angelina.
"It would only be a matter of time." She said.
"I'm sorry." I said. "None of that was my intention.." She just smiled.
"You and him are something different."
"He still loves you." I said.
"No."
"He doesn't love me." I said.
"It's too early for him to love you. But, I know him. He's falling. It's a shame you have to leave." She added.
"I-I-I should go now." I said and exited the bathroom, bumping into George.
"Hey you." He said.
"Hi." Was the only thing I managed to say as I was entirely mesmerised by his eyes. "I'm feeling a bit poorly so I was thinking of heading up to the room if it's alright with you." He just looked at me.
"You're a horrendous liar."
"I'm serious. I've drank like crazy these past few days. The alcohol's getting to my brain." I said.
"Yeah, I know that's bullshit but I'm not going to pressure you into staying." He said.
"Thanks, stud." I said, he kissed my cheek.
"I'll be up in a few."
"No, you stay."
"Please. I'm not going to leave you alone for too long. Knowing you as well as I do you'll probably be back home." He said. I chuckled.
"I'll see you later then." I said. "Have fun." He winked at me as I walked up to the lift. The first thing I did when I arrived to our room was take everything off. Dressing up was pretty annoying to me, especially since I was forced to do so everyday was a kid. I entered the bathroom and drew a bubble bath which always seemed to calm me down. As I was in the bath, I heard the door open.
"Gianna." George shouted.
"In here." I said and gathered bubbles so they covered everything. "You can enter." He came into the bathroom.
"Sorry." He said. "I brought wine."
"Two glasses. You're going to sit on the floor and talk with me." I said. He smiled and went to get the glasses and bottle. He returned and sat down on the floor while filling my glass and then started talking. With George, everything has a little sexual tension in our case it's a lot but somehow this seemed completely innocent. Even if I was naked right next to him. He started telling me anecdotes about his life and his Hogwarts days and even about Angelina. Every time I heard her name I received a mental face-palm. I emptied the bubble soap into the tub just to avoid getting out. George just sat there taking and listening.
"Give me your hand." He said. He was obviously tipsy and kind of borderline drunk. I extended my arm and he reached it. He kissed my hand. "I'm really lucky to have you." He kissed it again. "I wish this could be forever, you know? I want you to stay with me." He kissed it again. I stiffened up when I heard that. I sat up. Not caring whether he saw everything, but he had his eyes closed so I didn't have anything to worry about. I grabbed my robe and stood up, putting it on as I did. I sat on the floor in front of him and kissed his cheek and then his lips.
"Let's get you to bed, Weasley." I said. I unbuttoned his shirt and he threw it on the floor as he plopped down on the bed.
"Join me, please." He said.
"I have to clean up here."
"Don't." He said. I laid next to him, in the opposite side of the one I slept on the day before. "I just want to kiss you."
"We can't keep doing that."
"Please." He said. Hell, I did want to kiss him and even more. I kissed his lips gently.
"That's all you're getting." I said and stood up but he held me. I laid down on my side and just, awkwardly, spooned him. I wasn't used to being the big spoon so it just felt odd to me. I kissed his shoulder a few times. He seemed to really like that.
"I really wish you'd stay." He said.
"Me too, George. Me too." I said. He turned around and kissed me one last time, turned back and fell asleep. Somewhere in the night he became the big spoon once again.
The next day we woke up, faintly remembering the night before but not wanting to speak about it. We went to have the wedding breakfast and then got ready for check out.
"Gianna." George said as we went down on the lift.
"Last night never happened." I said, hurtfully.
"Last night never happened..." He repeated. "You might regret it, but I don't."
"I don't regret it." I mumbled. "But we can't keep acting like a couple and you know it. I'm leaving in less than a month." He sighed.
"I guess you're right."
