Tears

As drops slide down against these cheeks of time

I wonder every now and then what each signifies

A lot has been seen through these eyes

It's confusing now to decide about what they cry.

Perhaps the one going down now shows a lonely life

And the one before this had been etched with a struggle to strive

And the one that is threatening its way out

Evokes a sense of the doubts I'm afraid to shout.

But what about all those dreary storms

Which crackled and trembled until the first rays of morn

Meaningless reasons behind those nights of pain

Yet all these tears did was mercilessly rain.

But now their time has come again

To be behind bars and tied in chains

Efforts to escape will go in vain

Unnoticed shall pass all their pain.

The world has left this heart tired and weak

Soothing words no more these trembling lips speak

Indifference sketched expertly on this face

But these tears break their cages when the night is at its peak.
