Yet Another One For You

I tried to write a line or two

Of poetry that excluded you

I looked outside to find some sense

In passing cars and slanting roofs

Not one shone with the light you ooze

To inspire words out of the blue

And so you win and I do loose

Another one I write for you.

Once again I fail to paint a wall

Between my rhythm and your soul

They sway together as I draw

Another picture filled with your

Shades of black, so vigorously bold

Encompassed in the bitterest cold

With hidden warmth at the core

That you hide but my poems show.
