My Prison

50 2 1

And as she lay so did my soul

This departure has accounted for

One boat paddled by a duo

I cling to her as she goes.

Her essence wrapped in peaceful white

Mine enclosed in her life

The falling dirt closes doors

Back to all of worldly woes.

They ask of me not to weep

She is where she is, undisturbed, asleep

But if only they could know I cry

Not to sorrow for I leave

Them behind, along I walk

With her, to heavens above

Abandoning all reasons to breathe

Dissolving myself into dreams

Of afterlives that never cease

We walk with hands entwined and pleased

My smile shines brighter than hers

And soon we reach the doors of peace.

Guarded doors let her in

As sunlight paints her face in bliss

Yet as I try to follow her light

All of night rains down upon me.

And once again my paradise fades

Her face once more has clouded away

Something tells me that this time

I have her lost for all of while.

So here I sit as eternity cries

Her prison grows larger with my life

She laments her inability to warn us of

The consequences of making decisions for

Amount of breaths we wish to keep

Shall remain forever out of our reach

And for all who dare to stride upon

A fate that never was theirs to call

Will endure a hell stuck still in time

And hence my sentence finally begins

Shall last as long as world sings

I'll spend unending eons thinking

Where lies the sin in wanting to be

By her side and longing to  live

All that's offered for as long as  I

Stand by her and she by me.
