I Keep Coming Back To 'Her'

I forgot how to miss her

Eventually

When the stars could no longer be seen

And the sky looked lonely

I forgot the way she smiled

Finally

When the tides have not waved

And beaches live unhappily

I lost the feel of her skin

Ultimately

As the moon has abandoned her kin

And the night weeps endlessly.

But I hear you say

Oh there is a day

And the night is perfect

Nothing missing from its grey

The tides are still an accomplice

In the sands' mischievous ways

And you still are smiling

Like nothing has changed.

My eyes spill the secret

As my smile bends wider

To her peaceful oblivion

My envy gets brighter

And yet I pray she never

Gathers the will to understand

My pain of loving her for the

Rest of eternity that still stands.
