An Encounter with Time

Time rained on two men

One on his feet

The other on his knees

First pair of eyes dull with life

Second pair's smile filled with light

I saw time pour today

As he swung to reach the sky

While he rode on his joy

His black lush hair

Will someday steal his white

And as I see time drizzle

I realize how life is so fickle

Soon his apace legs

Will rely on wood

Like his arms lean on hands

And head on a hood

I wish for time

To relegate its pace

Let his bliss

Last a while more

Before his cheeks too

Lose its velvety rose.
