Arthur's POV
After the night passed I awoke with a small smile on my face. Alfred was hopefully coming again, if I hadn't messed up too big. He didn't seem too upset.. But then again, Alfred's been known to lie about his feelings.
Arthur: Hey Love, four weeks until I'm coming to New York to visit!
Alfred: haha, yeah, I'm pretty excited.Arthur stared at his phone, a small scowl on his face. What? Alfred wasn't like this, he was always super excited when they talked about Arthur visiting.
Arthur: Alfred, Love what's wrong? You're not, you.
Alfred: how would you know? We're talking through messages, emotions display through a lifeless screen.
Arthur: Alfred Jones please. Don't lie to me, seriously what's wrong?
Alfred: it's just me and my mom that's all. Seriously, I'm fine. You know how my mom is.
Arthur: not really, I've never met the woman. But I do kind of understand. What did she do though?Alfred stared at his phone screen, rubbing his cheek. He didn't know exactly what to say. What to do, what to say, y'know? Should he tell the truth? No, it'll just make for an awkward conversation.
Alfred: same ol'.
Arthur groaned, hitting his head repeatedly against his phone screen. Why can't Alfred be straight foreword? What could he really be hiding. Arthur thought for a moment, a small smile creeping up on his face. He playfully took a selfie, sticking his tongue out. He sent it to Alfred.
Arthur: Cheer Up Love! What is there to be sad about?
Alfred couldn't help but smile, see his cute little boyfriend making funny faces, just to make him feel better.
Alfred: cute. But there's lots to be sad about. Think about it, people die every day. People get beaten, by the people they love too. It's a horrible world sometimes.
Alfred..what are you saying? Arthur couldn't help but wonder what Alfred problem was. He was so much sadder, and he wouldn't tell him why? It was getting agitating for him.
Arthur: yes, the world can be a cruel rude thing. It takes away the people we love, it throws away the good, leaving sorrow and emptiness behind. But really, you have to look behind that, you have me and I have you. There's no need to be hung up on the sad of the world, or you'll never see the light.
Arthur had a point, Alfred knew this. But even so, it's not that easy with his situation.
"Alfred! Where are you?!" Alfred's mother yelled from the other side of the house. Alfred gasped, turning his phone off.
"Y-Yeah Ma? What're wrong?"She walked to Alfred's room, glaring. "Who were you talking to?"
"Huh? What! I wasn't talking to anyone! Where'd you get that assumption?"
"I was watching you for a while Alfred."
"O-Oh, okay. Interesting mom, haha!"
"Hm, yes. Who were you talking to then?"
"Just a f-friend mom!"Alfred's mum stared at her son, her matching blue eyes stared into Alfred's scared own. What was she going to do? What more could she do?!
"What's there name? A girlfriend? I hope so.. With your brother and the news I heard. It's a shame he would end up that way, that's what he gets for staying with your father and his bitch of a new wife. Changed my innocent boy, now he's gay! Little sinner, I cannot believed I birthed one of them honey. Good thing you're not right Dear? Mama's little boy, Mama's innocent little boy."
