Author's Question: Is this dragging on? Should I end it soon?
Arthur's POV
They slept soundly in the hotel room while I cleaned it up. Yes, cleaning up the completely clean hotel room.
Or based off me and Alfred's personal experiences, not clean at all but looks clean enough hotel room.
Heh.Alfred and I didn't think Elizabeth would freak out so much about being on an airplane.
But she was terrified. Absolutely terrified. Poor thing.
She said it was like going to the moon, silly girl.Elizabeth whined again, tightening her grip on Alfred's hand.
"Why are you so afraid? This is called turbulence, it's just a little shake on the plane." Alfred smiled, trying to calm Elizabeth down.
"B-But we could crash! Or the rocket could go boom!"Arthur chuckled, ruffling Elizabeth's hair.
"Now now, this isn't going to blow up. I promise. It's like a big metal bird, do birdies blow up?"
Alfred laughed, mumbling, "If you try hard enough.."
This only made Elizabeth more afraid.
Alfred you idiot."Of course not, birdies don't explode! We're safe Elizabeth, I promise." Arthur whispered lovingly, rubbing his daughters back.
Elizabeth stuck out her pinky finger, glaring at Alfred and Arthur.
"Promise promise?" She murmured.
"Of course." The pair mumbled in unison. She eventually fell asleep for the remaining two hours of the tiresome flight.
So did Alfred as well, he usually did fall asleep during flights though.Anyway, I continued cleaning up the room, wiping it down with wipes and such.
You know, Alfred was right about me in some senses. I am a total housewife. All of the sudden, there was a knock on the door. I turned my head towards the front door and froze, looking to see if either Alfred or Elizabeth had awoken. When I found the coast to be clear, I walked towards the door.
"Hello?" I opened the door, only for my eyes to widen and immediately I slammed the door.
No. No way, I forbid it! No way in hell is he here. How did he find me? No no.. Don't ask that, not now at least..
"Arthur? Is that you?" The man yelled from outside the door, a shrill, shocked voice he had.
"No! It is not! Now piss off! I don't want you here right now!" I yelled in return.
"Clearly it is," the git said, trying to sound obvious. "Just..allow me to speak okay? Let me inside."
"How did you find me?" I inquired, glaring at the still closed door.
"I'll explain if you'd just allow me inside!"I thought for a while, really thinking. I sighed, opening the door.
"If you are stalking me, I will punch you immediately, again."
"I understand."Me and this son-of-a-tart sat on the couch in the room, it was velvety and red, dark red. It was sexual, I could tell. Which only made it more awkward.
"Tell me how you found me, Wes. And I want to know now."Wes... God he had changed so much. His normally long, shaggy black hair, it was gone. It was short, and kept nicely. Except a couple stray hairs that stuck up, sort of like a couple cowlicks. His green eyes were still like mine, piercing. Yet they weren't in such a glare, but bright and dazzling. He looked seemingly...happy. Well, he probably would have if I wasn't glaring at him with such a sinister face. But I was concerned if my stupid ex had been stalking me, so I had my rights.
"It was completely coincidental, I promise. There's no way I was stalking you, my life is so much different now. Without you. Look Arthur, this is all such a silly mixup-"
"Who is this, Arthur." Alfred walked out, arms crossed as he glared at Wes and I.
Fuck.
"Oh! Alfred! This is Wes, he's my..ex.. Uh, he stumbled upon our room so I thought he should explain himself." I glared at Wes, he shrank down into the couch.
"Mhm...sure. Yeah okay, I'm gonna believe you now." Alfred mumbled, now I started glaring at him.
"Do you pin me a bloody liar?" I asked, crossing my arms at Alfred.
"Never say never." He glared back.I growled, now ignoring the oaf with vocal chords I wanted to rip out of his throat. I turned my attention to Wesley, continuing my interview of sorts.
"How ironic you'd end up at the hotel I was staying at, Wes. How ironic you'd just..stumble upon my room suddenly, without question. That's pretty coincidental, don't you think?"
"Look, Arthur. I want nothing to do with you. I live a healthy life now, it's completely coincidental that I ended up here because of my job."
Job? Oh, shit.
"You work here? But you were a programmer..."
"Graphic designer. And clearly not anymore. So, excuse me, I have a job to do. See you around Arthur, hopefully. And I'll definitely be sure to get some noise complaints in a bit, in compliance to your partner's face so...Good luck, Kirkland."Wesley stood up from the couch -like he fucking owned the place- and just waltzed out, giving the extra 'go fuck yourself' by slamming the door with a laugh.
I clenched my fist, mumbling curses to myself.
God I wish I snapped his neck."Arthur. Why was he here?"
"Well would you rather I had gone with him?" I snapped, turning my attention towards Alfred.
"I was simply asking why he was here, don't start with the petty attitude."
"Petty, am I?""Daddy!" Elizabeth waddled out, making Alfred and I turn our heads.
Thank God we had Elizabeth, she saves my ass constantly.
Alfred's POV
So am I not supposed to react to a strange dude next to my husband in our hotel room?
Because that's how Arthur practically set it up.I don't know, maybe it was innocent?
Honestly, shouldn't I trust Arthur more?I do, I trust Arthur a lot. I mean, obviously though, right? We do have a child together. And we're married.
Goddamn isn't that enough?"Elizabeth, what're you doing?" Arthur immediately smiled, like nothing ever happened.
It only pissed me off more, like: Hey? We have important business here, put the toddler down.
"You look mad, Dad!" She giggled, I just clenched my fist.
"I'm..okay, Sweetie."
"Oh, but are you, Dad?" Arthur smirked.I'm going to kick you.
"I'm fine! God. I'm going out-"
"With who?"
"Me, myself, and I, Arthur."Arthur simply rolled his eyes, playing with Elizabeth, she didn't even care I was leaving.
I'm not surprised, she loves Arthur more anyway. Just because he spoils her all of the time.I grabbed my coat and my phone, hoping in the back of my mind Arthur might care I've left later, and left without saying anther word.
It'll be good for me to just get out for a little.
