The Perfect Family

Daniel's P.O.V.

I walked away from Lexi but for her own protection how could I put her in unnecessary danger? 

I got back to my house I turned off my motorcycle took off my helmet I walked inside I wanted this day to be over I opened the hallway closet put my helmet on the shelf next to mine was Lexi's 

I ran my hand through my hair yes I walked away but it's not like I didn't think about the fact that I would be away from her but it was harder then it sounded I just wanted her close

"It's for her own safety, Daniel" I repeated to myself I slammed the door shut walked up the steps

"Daniel what's wrong?" I stopped turn toward Allison, she hadn't gone so there for she had no idea Jesse would tell her later

"Nothings wrong, I just want to sleep" She raised her eyebrows questioning in I didn't stay long to hear her 

I turned and left I walked into my room I got changed and laid down today was just worst I looked up at the ceiling 

How I wish it would fall and crush me, just smother me, I was an asshole I had left her crying 

Just don't think about it Daniel

I closed my eyes 

I looked around till my eyes landed on Lexi, she stood there

"Lexi" I whispered a tear ran down her face I reached out to whip it away but she stepped back

"You left me, I thought you actually cared"

"I do" She shook her head

"If you cared you wouldn't have left me crying Daniel" She cried into her hands I reached out for her but she just stepped back I heard a gunshot and blood on her white shirt she fell forward I caught her, my left hand behind her and my right holding her close

I looked back Edward stood there with a smirk

"No Lexi...do not give up...I won't leave I promise"

"Goodbye" Her eyes slowly closed, my eyes snapped open I sat up to put my hands on my head I was breathing hard I stood up walked over to the mirror I looked at my reflection but the only thing looking back at me was Lexi crying 

I punched the mirror shattering it

"Ahh"

Why did I get close to her? I knew this would happen

"Daniel" I looked back to see Allison by the door she walked in, she was scared

"God back to sleep, Allison"

"No, what the hell is going on? Your pissed off, you won't talk about it, and you just punched a fucking mirror. Tell me what happened? You know I'm here for you no matter what" I looked into her eyes

I didn't keep things from Allison she knew me too well and wouldn't fall for a lie

"Edward came after Lexi and her dad and so I went to talk to her dad and she promised me that he could keep her safe but with me around that's not gonna happen so I left" Her eyes went wide

"You turned you back on Lexi?"

"Yeah what else could I do? Her being close was just gonna get her killed" She reached out pulled me to sit on my bed 

"Daniel let me tell you something, when I was in that coma, I was aware of my surrounding I heard you and the guys all the time it was my favorite thing to hear you guys, and then you came in with Jesse and you told me that being away was the only way I wouldn't getting killed and you left, I almost gave up I was alone and all 4 of you left, being left hurts bad"

"Yes, Allison but it kept you safe"

"Yeah your right it kept me safe, it kept me safe from Edward, but it didn't keep me safe from  myself and that's where you messed up, the difference is I couldn't hurt myself but Lexi she can"

Her cuts on her stomach 

I put my hand up to my forehead massaged my head how could I be so stupid?

"DANIEL CAN YOU COME DOWN" My mom screamed from downstairs I got up walked down she was messing with her hands

"I have to tell you something" I looked at her strange "It's about Lexi"

"I know I left you don't have to scream at me I fucked up but I believe it's for the best"

"It's not about that Lexi after you left she had a fight with her parents..." She stopped

"Mom, what happened?"

"Lexi left, she walked out of the house" I became angry quick how could they just let her leave I walked over to get my helmet and keys

"Daniel where are you going it's 3 in the morning"

"I have to go look for her mom I'll be back later" I ran out of the house I got on my motorcycle I drove over to Lexi's parent's house on my way there I looked at every person I passed but none of them were her

I got to the house there were cop cars I got off walked over to the door I was knocking like a maniac some police officer opened the door I passed by him I saw Lexi's dad

"Where the fuck is your daughter?"He stood up

"Excuse you, don't talk to me like that in my own home, who do you think you are?"

"I'm the idiot that let you convince me that you could take care of her, you let her run she's in more harm by herself"

"You think I don't know that, you may care for her but she's my daughter I love her more than anyone will ever"I shook my head

"If you did love her like you say you did you wouldn't have let her leave, you would have stopped her"I turned walked outside

"Daniel" I turned to see Ben and Samantha walking down the steps

"What?" I was annoyed and if they said something stupid I didn't doubt 

"We want to help you look for our sister we aren't the best siblings but we do care about her"

"Fine I look in her favorite spots, Samantha go look for anybody that she would stay with, and Ben go on the right side of town" They nodded they went to their car and I got on my motorcycle 

Xavier, Luke, and Jesse had joined us when they found out we spend all day looking for her since 3 in the morning till it was 11 a night we had all gone back to my house there was still a lot of the city that was left to look through

All of us sat in the living room

"Daniel maybe you should go to sleep?"

"Not until I know Lexi is perfectly fine that's when I'll sleep"

"So what's next?" I looked at Ben

"We hope Edward has left and he doesn't figure that Lexi's gone"
