The Perfect Family

Different Moments

A year later I stood in front of the mirror I was looking at how much I'd grown up over the last year

"Looking to see where your life is going?" I looked at my dad through the mirror I nodded "What happened to her? I remember when she was 2 she promised me she'd never grow up so why did she?"

"She realized not everything in life was rainbow and unicorn, that there are things that are hard and I can't wait for everyone around me to fix it"

"Lexi, you've grown up into someone beautiful inside and out, you've experienced many things at a young age, things that you shouldn't have"

"Yeah, but those things made me, Me. And in all honesty, if I could go back and changed it I wouldn't, Our perfect family isn't perfect and I love that" He smiled I turned to face him he got close hugged me

"We will meet you at graduation" I nodded he walked out left I put on the gown and cap

I realized a year ago I got back together with Daniel, being with him was nice there were no more major secrets I had gone to therapy and the rape trauma had been buried I wouldn't dream about it and my sexual relationship with Daniel was good when it was time for me to I leave I made it to the place I walked in saw Allison

I went up and hugged her

"Are you ready to graduate?" She quickly nodded

"We are finally done with school and everything is good" I smiled 

"OKAY EVERYONE LINE UP LADIES ON THE RIGHT, GUYS ON THE LEFT JUST LIKE WE PRACTICE PEOPLE" I went to the front I was like the 7th person since my last name was Anderson I sat on the top of the stage I was the valedictorian

"And now one of our 3 valedictorians first up Lexiane Anderson" I stood up I was just gonna wing it 

"Hey, friends and family sup, our family and friends have supported us through out our lives and our friends by our sides thank you all so much for raising us to become what we are now  I remember 4 years ago I started her at  Willowcreek High and I've met many of you I've shared many moments with you guys and now finally we all go our own ways some to college, some to travel the world, and some are moving into their parent's basement. We will no longer see each other at school no more rumors going around or those looks you get when you walk down the corridor, we are who we are, and all the challenges we have been through out our school life will seem like the smallest things ever as we embark our new life and new challenges class of 2017 we are ready for whatever life throws at us thank you"

I went back to sit after about 2 hours we got our diplomas and we did the whole move your tassel to the side and what not when we got out I hugged Allison

"Congrats"

"Congrats to you too" We were jumping up and down

"Guys" We looked over at our families we let go of each other walked over to them I hugged everyone except for Daniel he was gonna be last 

"Ohh congrats baby sis" I laughed at Ben 

"Thank you so much" I hugged him when everyone got a hug I got pulled into someone's chest I looked up at Daniel

"So I get the last hug?" 

"Yes, because if you would have been the first one you'd get a 30 sec hug before I'd have to hug another person and then you'd be all grumpy"

"Well your mine so yes I would get grumpy" I smiled at him he leaned down kissed me there was coughing in the background from my mother I stepped back a bit 

"Do you mind? I am trying to make out with my boyfriend here and if you as so say something I'm going to bring up the fact that you and dad as soon as he stepped out of the arena place you dragged him home to jump in bed getting pregnant with Samantha" She looked away "That's what I thought"
