***Liam's POV***
I look over to my left to see Mia asleep, leaning against the door. She's so beautiful. Not hot, not sexy, beautiful.
"Don't get any idea's, Liam." Zayn said nudging me.
"Shut up." I laugh quietly trying to make sure that Mia doesn't wake up.
"I know you really like her, but you do realize she can't stay forever, right?" Zayn asks me. That's a good question. I've never really felt like this before. I'm so happy to be around her, that I forget the pain I need to prepare for when she leaves.
Mia turns over and nuzzles her head on my shoulder. I feel the rise and fall of her stomach against my forearm and hear the soft breaths that pair with them. This is what feels right, natural. Being with her, I don't have to pretend or be someone else. I don't have to be famous for her to accept me. I don't have to act like someone that I'm not. And that's a first.
***Mia's POV***
I open my eyes, squinting at the bright sun light coming through the car window. I lift my head and notice that I had fallen asleep on Liam's shoulder. Crap! That's so cute! Why can't I just accept that I like him? Oh yeah. One- he's in a famous boy-band who just came in third on the X-Factor. Two- I have to leave sometime, I won't be able to stay with him forever. Three- I would be a typical fangirl. Four- Why would he like me anyways? I'm not skinny, I'm not tall, I'm not gorgeous. I'm just me.
I open the door and we're suddenly bombarded with cameras and microphones, pushing to get closer to me, in particular.
"Why are you with them? Are you dating them? What business do you have with them?" a journalist asks me, just inches from my face.
"I can't answer that." I reply. Liam comes and pulls me along by holding the small of my back. Once inside, the bodyguards lead us through the bustling airport and we finally make through the entrance. I stood close to Liam making sure that I didn't get near the girls. They're all trying to get past security to see the boys. We walk further ahead, but the security doesn't catch up to us and we end up getting separated with the crowd. Liam grabs my wrist trying to make sure we stick together, but I get punched in the eye and begin to bleed. Once Liam notices, he pushes through and covers me up making sure that no one sees the blood reverse. I do have a large bruise growing on my cheekbones, however. I find Jasmine and Harry going through the same thing near us, only the fans give them some space. What's different about them? They're actually dating! Liam and I are just friends… for now. Oh my god! i can't believe I actually just thought that! My mind needs a beating.
"You okay?" Liam shouts once the security catches up to us.
"Yeah. Just a little shaken up." I say rubbing my bruise.
"Sorry. But hey, that's not going to come again for another seven hours!" Liam and I both laugh and take our places in security.
Once we get on the plane, we find our seats. I sit in between Jasmine and Louis and Liam sits with Zayn and Harry, in the row behind us. I take out my computer and plug in my headphones. Louis gives me a puzzled look and so does Jasmine.
"What? I don't own an iPod and phones aren't allowed." I explain.
"Oh, right!" They reply simultaneously. I listen to music for the next half hour and then I begin to type some of my college applications. After a while of writing the college applications, Harry practically forces me to switch seats with him which means that I have to sit next to Liam.
"Hey!" I say looking at him whilst I set up my laptop and begin to type again.
"What are you doing?" Liam asks, curiously looking over my shoulder.
"Just some college applications. My senior year is coming this fall so it's important that I get these in before September." I reply, still typing away.
"Oh cool. Wait, how old are you?" He asks me almost as if he's confused.
"I'm sixteen. But I'm turning seventeen in October." I explain. I can see why he's confused. I went into Kindergarten when I was four, but then I skipped eighth grade and went straight into high school. It's hard because I'm the youngest in my class and I don't know many of the kids, but that's one of the reason that some of the girls call me 'Freak'. Because, apparently, being smart is illegal.
"Woah. You must be crazy smart." Liam says, causing me to blush. Damn it Mia! Do a better job of hiding it next time, will you?
"Thanks, but not really. I'm kind of a prodigy, instead of an honor student, I got a scholarship to skip a grade in musical talents."
"That's amazing. Sing for me." he nudged me.
"Yeah, sing for us." Zayn chimed in.
"Uh... Maybe some other time." I reply to them, then turning to look out the window. Everything looks so small from up here. It's almost scary. I'm not afraid of heights, but I don't like the feeling of being bigger than everything else. It's one of the reasons that cities are my favorite places to be, because everything towers over you and it just makes you feel protected.
We suddenly begin to land and then after a while, we get off the plane and get ready to brace the fangirls again. Those seven hours were nice while they lasted. I begin to get nervous about them again, about them finding out. As if he was reading my mind, Liam grabs my hand and squeezes it tight as we begin to walk into the main area. That's so cute. Oh my god. He's holding my hand. Why can't he just be like normal people and not be so perfect? The girls are screaming and a few of them notice Liam holding my hand. Crap. This is going to be all over twitter. Once we get down to baggage claim, everything had already been picked up by our chauffeurs. It's not that far from the airport to the house, but it sure is awkward. None of us had anything to say or to talk about since the flight.
When I walk into the house, the memories hit me like a ton of bricks and it's almost like I belong here.
"Home at last." I say to Louis and Liam who are walking through the door with their luggage.
"Home? Don't get too attached, Mia." Louis points out. "Unless..."
"I know." I cut him off. How dare he almost say what I think he was going to say out loud. "I'm not here forever."
"That would be cool though. If we could just freeze the good moments that we've had and just live there forever." Liam pipes up. Is he saying that he wants to be with me forever? No. Of course not. He would never. Ever. Ever. Say that. It just doesn't happen.
"Yeah, it'd be pretty amazing if I got to stay here forever." I blurt out. Shit. What am I turning into?
Oh no.
Oh no no.
Oh no, no, no.
This can't be happening.
This is not happening!
I can't.
I can't be turning...
i can't be turning into a ...
Fangirl...
Can I?
