***Liam's POV***
As we walk back in, people stare and quickly glance away, trying not to make a huge scene. But now that we're happy together, it doesn't matter to me if anyone makes a big scene. I want to tell the world that she's mine. They begin to play a slow-song, which encourages Mia to drag me to the very front of the dance floor.
"So, now that we're in love, I think we should get to know each other a little bit better." Mia giggles, looking up at me with her bright blue eyes.
"Sure, what do you want to know about me?" she asks, getting a little bit closer to me.
"Everything." I smirk.
"Hmm... My favorite color is purple, my favorite food is fries dipped in a chocolate shake, my favorite TV show is Sherlock, my favorite movie is Toy Story 2, my favorite book is 'To Kill a Mockingbird', and my favorite song is the one that's playing right now." she looks up at me again. Those eyes, they're like the color of the sky when you can't tell if it's going to rain, or if it's just really blue. That's my favorite color.
"Interesting. What about that stuff?" I ask her. Her smile slowly fades and she asks me to sit in the corner with her. We sit down, leaning against the wall.
"Alright. Some of this, is going to be pretty disturbing." she says, resting her head on my shoulder.
"It won't disturb me." I say, putting my arm around her, snuggling her in closer.
"Well, I've never known my real dad. He left my mom before Kaleb and Jane were born. They're my step-dad's kids. But I distinctly remember my dad. He didn't leave because he didn't want a kid, or because my mom and him didn't get along, but because he didn't want us to be tortured with the stigma of being with an immortal. But over the years, I changed. We got a lot of tourists over the summer and that's when the incident happened. The one that Jack was talking about... So my dad somehow found out about that and he decided that I should become a full-on darker. I'd always healed fast as a child, but I was never immortal. So on my thirteenth birthday, my dad came back. You can always tell that it's my dad because he looks so young. I don't know why, but immortals can only really look as old as 21 or 22. At the most 23, it's some weird phenomena. Anyways, the process of turning someone into a darker is really scary. Basically, you have to cut open their skin in enough places to put your blood into theirs. But he showed up at my birthday party. So all the other kids were dancing and having a good time in the back yard while I'm being cut open in the down-stairs bathroom. When I came out of the house to find my mom, I was covered in my own blood, staggering. That's when everybody started the terrible rumors and names. So, yeah, sometimes it can be useful, but on a regular basis, being immortal sucks. You can never grow old with anybody."
"Woah. Okay, umm." I begin, taking in deep breaths. "Well just so you know, You always have the option of never growing old with me."
"I think I'd like that." she laughs, kissing my cheek.
For the rest of the night, we talk about failed relationships and family vacations and different types of music. After the guests left the party, Mia and I walk out, more tired than ever.
"Liam?" she asks me, falling asleep.
"Yeah?" I ask her, giving her my jacket.
"Thank you for always being there for me." she replies, yawning half-way through the sentence.
"I will always be there for you." I whisper as I too begin to doze off.
The only thing I hear before completely falling alseep is Mia's voice, soft and smooth.
"Because infinity is forever."
