Chapter 5: Bruised and Broken

~~~Mia~~~

 I walk into the kitchen, to find Liam sitting with a computer in front of him and a phone at his ear. 

"Okay. Bye. No, I have to go now. Guest is up. Yep. You too." he hangs up on the person in quite a hurry.

"Good morning." I say picking up a mug of cocoa that was obviously not mine. I point to it and Liam shrugs as if he doesn't know who's it is.

"Good morning. How did you sleep?" he asks me, standing from the stool, making me realize, just how tall he actually is.

"Fine. Thanks for giving up your bed by the way. We can switch and I can sleep on the floor of your room if you want. It's no big deal." I say.

"No it's fine. If we switch back, the boys will make jokes about me being a pervert and hating women." he says.

"Oh... So who were you on the phone with?" I ask nudging his arm.

"Just this girl..." he says, turning his head away.

"Ooooohhh." I tease.

"Hey!" he chuckles back.

"Is it your girlfriend?" I say giggling.

"Well, yes. Danielle and I have been on and off for a while and now she wants to get serious again." he replies staring into his mug of cocoa, his facial expression emotionless, but his eyes full of regret, but what would I care.

Zayn and Harry walk in, both shirtless.

"Could you ever be fully dressed?" I ask Zayn.

"No. Can you ever not be?" he asks, smirking.

"Why are you always a pervert, Zayn?" Liam asks defensively.

"I'm just saying, if you've got it, flaunt it." 

"Pervert." I mutter under my breath.

I go to get Jane up when Niall stops me in the hallway.

"Hey, Zayn is always a pervert. So don't let it bug you." 

"Okay. Thanks Niall." For the obvious advice! I already know he's a pervert.

After I get Jane up, they get ready to go to the studios and this is the first day that I get to go outside of the house. It's also the day that I get to see Jack.

We walk out the door ready for a day when we begin to walk down the road. I walk beside Liam talking about school and college, when I see something out of the corner of my eye. It was a necklace. It was silver chain with small letters carved into the sides of it and a pendant that was a heart with a purple silver infinity sign in the middle. The heart also read 'Infinity is Forever'. I stop to look at it when I realize that everyone is waiting for me. I run up to catch up with them, but I can't stop thinking about the necklace. 

+++A FEW HOURS LATER+++

We arrive at the house after a full day and I take another shower. I get dressed into my favorite dress and wait for Jack to get here. I waited and waited but he didn't show up.

I walked outside and followed directions on my phone to the restaurant but about half way there, the weather decided to screw me and started raining cats and dogs. I finally arrived, almost sopping.

"Hello gorgeous! Ehh?! What the hell happened to you?!" He asked stepping back for a second.

"I thought you were picking me up but you didn't so I started walking and then it started raining." I replied almost in tears.

"Well, you're here now, so let's have a nice dinner." We eat in silence, good silence and comfortable silence.

"I have to go to the bathroom." He said standing and belching loudly.

I continued eating. He took a while and I looked around and he was getting another girls number. Jack had completely changed. He used to be this polite, sweet, romantic, funny guy and now he's just an ass. Maybe Jane was right all along.

I ended up paying with the money that I had earned myself last summer because he forgot his wallet and I also had to buy him a new umbrella and pay for a cab... on our anniversary.

When we got home, I introduced him to the boys and we went into Liam's bedroom to talk a bit.

"Jack, what the hell is wrong with you? You left me waiting, you embarrassed me, you got another girls number and then you made me pay for everything." I stated angrily. He rolled his eyes.

"Look, babe. It's all good. We're good. I don't think it's that big a deal. It's just one date."

"This date happens to be our anniversary." I said, on the verge of tears. I heard a knock at the door, probably Liam. "Not now. We will be right out!" I replied impatiently.

"Who cares?" He shrugs angrily, getting more frustrated.

"I do! I can't believe you just said that!" I say.

"What? Are you going to cry? Like the time that the old man in the alley way-"

"Shut up!" I screamed covering my ears.

"Face it, bitch! You were raped! Get over yourself! Raped!" He yelled back pushing closer to me.

"Get away from me!." I kicked at him but it didn't work.

"Maybe tonight we can... you know!" he whispered in my ear I scratched him across his forearm, and once I did it, I knew I would regret it.

"You little bitch!" he screamed as he started thwacking me across the head. Liam finally opened the door to see me lying there, bruises everywhere on my face and arms. Jack had a way of making me bruise but not bleed and apparently since I was only a darker, I can have internal wounds that won't actually kill me, which kinda sucks. Liam punches Jack continuously until he is bleeding on the ground. He then picks me up and lays me on the bed. 

"Thank.. you." I say right before I lose consciousness.

***Liam's POV*** 

"I will be right back." I replied as I lifted up Jack and took him downstairs. I opened the front door and dropped him on the front step. I ran back upstairs to Mia, who had now woken up and was sitting alone on the window pane, crying her eyes out. I walk over to her, taking her in my arms. I cradle her and sing to her. She almost instantly falls asleep. I begin to move, but I hear a murmur.

"Please stay." She says, putting her hand over mine. And I do.

And for the first time, I actually realized something about myself. Love wasn't about looking cute together or who matches perfectly, it's about the way you feel towards someone. 

And just for a split second, I thought that i didn't love Danielle.
