Chapter 19

“Looks like mom and dad aren’t here today.” I mutter to myself. This sometimes happens, either they have something important to do or they are just too lazy to come. It happened before, since they know when I work here for the day. I don’t blame them, I would do it too honestly.

Walking in the familiar room I go towards the back room and put the stuff there that I bought yesterday from the supermarket. It’s not too much because after they’ve been here we are also going to watch the new movie. Niall and I had quite a talk about it yesterday and we’re both super eager to finally watch it.

After I’ve put all my stuff neatly away, I put on my apron and walk back to the front and open the shop for the day.

Today has been like every other day, quite busy at the busy hours and for the rest it was fine. Luckily no “jerk” customers.

Since it’s almost closing time, I go towards the back room and get the snacks ready. Nothing special, just chips, cookies and chocolate bars. What? I love chocolate, both white and dark but not more than 75%, that’s my limit.

And not too long after, I hear the bells go off, signaling that people have entered the shop. However, I stop what I am doing as I hear more voices than just those of Zayn and Niall. Looks like Liam and Harry are here as well. Not that I mind, I kind of thought Liam might come along but I did not expect that Harry was coming too. Technically it hasn’t been said that only Zayn and Niall were coming so, yeah nothing I can do about it.

I dust my hands on my apron and make my way towards the guys. I’m not going to take it off, it’s not yet closing time, only one hour left. When I enter the room I see all of them looking at different sections of the store. I can clearly see that Niall is really enjoying himself, touching almost everything he sees. His eyes are wide, just like a little kid when he sees something very interesting.

“Hello sirs, how may I help you?” I say in my most professional voice possible, probably failing miserably. They all turn their heads to look at me.

“This shop is amazing! I can definitely see myself coming here often. I like your apron by the way.” Niall says excitingly. I can see that Zayn and Liam are trying to contain their laughter. I don’t blame them, it happens regularly that people have to laugh a bit when I wear this apron. I don’t mind though, they don’t mean it in a bad way and it makes me happy to hear customers laugh a bit. When I look at Harry, he’s already looking at me. I turn my head at the others again.

“Thank you Niall, I’m glad you like it. You guys can just laugh, I’m used to it but I must say, doesn’t this apron just make me look amazing?” I say and make a weird pose in front of them.

Zayn and Liam couldn’t take it anymore and burst out laughing. Soon after, me and Niall join too. I could see that Harry found it funny too and was also chuckling a bit. Somehow that just made me a whole lot happier.

“So do you guys want to look some more? Maybe I can give you a discount, I’ll have to think about it first though.” I say, grinning at them. “Oh my god, really! Then I’m definitely buying something here, come with me Zayn.” and Niall drags him towards a table with stuff laying on it.

“Well, I will take a look too then.” says Liam, walking away too. That just leaves me and Harry standing at our same spot. “So……….” I start but I have no idea what to say honestly and just stand there looking probably very dumb.

He looks at me for a brief moment and then also walks away towards one of the tables. Well, that was awkward, wasn’t it?

As some time passes, everyone is scattered around and is looking at something. I smile to myself, they all look like they are in their own world.

I then notice Harry looking at a necklace with a tiny clock attached to it. It looks like he is struggling to open the cover. I make my way towards him. “Let me help you with that.” and I take the clock out of his hands and open the cover with a click. Again I feel the tingles but ignore it, there is seriously something wrong with me. I should maybe really go to a doctor about this.

All the while I notice him staring at me but pretend not to notice. “Here you go.” and I hand the clock back to him. “An old lady sold this, it was broken but I fixed it. She said that it was from her husband. But she wanted it to be in better hands and sold it to us, it’s quite an old clock and you can even put a tiny picture on the back side of the cover if you look closely.” I say and point to where a picture can be put.

When I look back at him I see him already staring at me but then looks at the clock in his hand. “You know what, you can just have it, since you are a new customer.” “No, I can’t-------“ but before he can finish his sentence I already pat him on the shoulder and walk away towards Niall and Zayn, leaving him a bit stunned. I ignore the tingles that I feel again.

“So, how’s it going over here?” I say as I walk up to them. “There is so much stuff here that I would like to buy. But Zayn says I can buy a maximum of three things only. Help me Louis, since you work here, show him some of your persuading skills!” Looks like Niall wants to buy more than just three items……………..i’ll just have a little fun then.

“Zayn, do you really love Niall?” I ask him in a dead serious voice. “Of course, he’s the love of my life.” Zayn answers immediately, looking confused at me, wondering why I’m asking him a question like that. I can already see Niall grinning next to me.

“Would you do anything to keep that bond, so called love, that you have with him?” I ask in a serious voice again and wave towards Niall. “Of course.” There was no hesitation in his answer. I smile victoriously.

“Well, if you want to keep that bond I suggest you let him buy the stuff he wants or else the bond might be broken.” I dead serious and look at him intensly. “Yeah Zayn, or else I’m gonna give you the silent treatment.” Niall says in a serious voice and crosses his arms over his chest, it definitely doesn’t look like he’s lying.

“You seriously are unbelievable, whatever, do what you want, just not the silent treatment please.” says Zayn and walks away defeated. “Thanks man.” Niall says smiling. Okay now I feel bad for Zayn. “Just don’t buy too much, if you even want to buy anything at all. I actually feel bad for him now.” I say to him, looking at Zayn's retreating back.

“Don’t worry, I won’t, I just wanted to tease him a bit. It’s usually because I buy stuff which I don’t even need. He only does it because he cares.” he says and smiles at Zayn who has his back turned to us and is standing next to Liam. They really love each other.

In the end both Liam and Niall had something which they wanted to buy but I just gave it to them, as a gift for being a new customer. It took a little arguing but I eventually won. Threatening them that I otherwise won’t watch the movie made them shut up. I'm getting more bold with them, looks like i'm getting used and more comfortable around them.

It's making me a bit sad that this book isn't being read, the views stay the same........

But I am going to finish this book no matter what. I WILL NOT LET THIS GET ME DOWN😇😈
