Have you ever really cared for someone but not enough to say I love you? Like you really appreciate them and they have a place in your heart, but I love you comes off too strong? And so you have no idea how to express your feelings. Well, there's a word for that in Spanish, and Harry said it to me last night.
Te quiero.
And whether he knows what that means or not, my heart can't not flutter in joy as if he had just kissed it. That's why it's noon and I'm still repeating them in my mind while I sit at the terrace of a restaurant, taking a sip of my horchata as I wait for Harry to come back from paying.
"Thank you for waiting, there was a line." He tells me when he comes back.
"No problem." I grin.
"Ready?"
"Yeah." I take one last sip of my drink before grabbing my purse and standing up.
Harry and I are exhausted from last night. I had to be dragged from the dance floor and Harry even sang the newly weds a song. Talk about party animals.
"So where to now?" I ask him after we walked around and admired the Mexican wonders. This place is so beautiful.
"I have a surprise for you Skycakes." He smirks as we walk.
"Oh really?" I lift my brows.
"Yeah."
"What kind of surprise?" I question narrowing my eyes.
"A surprising one." He cheekily smiles.
I laugh. "How odd."
Harry says he knows I'll love it as we approach a man with a taxi. Apparently Harry already has everything planned cause he buys two mangoneadas and we enter the taxi. We drive out of the city and into the green suburbs where the grass becomes greener and the trees taller. The beach is still visible far, far away.
"Where are we going?" I blurt out with my face pressed against the window.
Harry only winks and mischievously smirks.
After a while, we reach what looks like a small village where some houses look made of palm leaves and clay. Others look more structured, almost like mansions.
The taxi comes to a halt and we get off. Harry thanks the man and hands him the money. We are literally in the middle of the road just surrounded by grass and palm trees and small hills.
"You ready for a hike?" Harry pats my shoulder in an encouraging manner.
"Uuuum, no? Harry, I didn't wear my running shoes." I whine
"It's not a long way. C'mon."
We walk a little further until we reach a small dirt path leading up a hill. There are loads of palm trees and tall grass. I feel like I'm in an enhanced forest. On the way, Harry talks about how bananas are really healthy and the best thing on the planet. Then he talks about how he saw a whale documentary and that whales eyaculate I don't know how many tons of sperm into the ocean per year. And in between breaths, I tried to get some information about where the heck we're going , but Harry would simply flash me his dorky sneaky butt grin. I hate his curly guts.
Just kidding, ha. I'm whipped.
We reach a house not too big and not too small with a small porch and lots of sand. The house looks pretty and cute, well kept and clean. Harry walks further and I wonder what the heck we are doing here.
"One question, will I leave this place alive?" I sigh.
"Of course you are, silly. I would never let you die. I'd have to die with you."
