The next morning she wakes to
his cold hand on her bare shoulder.
Her eyes flutter open
And he fights a frown
"What time is it?"
She groggily asks
"Time for you to get a watch,"
He jokes half heartedly
"Four AM."
He answers and
She notices he's fully clothed
And a suitcase by the door.
"Is it that time already?"
She rubs sleep from her eyes
And sits in the bed
Careful to cover her naked body
Under the sheets.
"It is."
He admits and leans over the bed
To kiss her.
"Don't go."
She kisses him back and pulls him
To the bed beside her.
"Please."
"I have to
It's my job"
She whines and turns away.
"Fine."
She gets out of bed
And quickly clothes herself
"Bye."
She says and dismisses him
He sighs and pulls her into his arms
"Please, don't be mad."
He begs and kisses the top of her head.
He is almost shocked to hear her
Sobbing into his chest.
She hugs him tighter than ever before
"I'm not mad."
She manages to say
"I'm sad."
He kisses her head again
And says good bye
He's already late.
