She stayed in bed
The whole first week
Not caring to do anything
But return his calls.
Once a day he'd text her
Then call for a few minutes
In between shows.
The boys all joined in
On the calls
But she just wanted to hear
Luke.
He'd tell her about the fans
And how they would sing along
To every song
She'd tell him about her book
And how she's waiting
For the publisher to call
But it's been too long
Since she finished it all
Maybe they won't sell it
At all.
He tells her has to go
And that he loves her
She does the same
But the satisfaction
She got from hearing
Those words
Weren't the same when
They weren't followed by a kiss
Already she counted down the days
And it seemed too long
She needed something
To do.
She wanted Luke.
