Jade felt the stitches
Going in and out
And remembered
To stay strong
And alive
As long as she could.
But it was hard
To think
And the darkness was consuming her
Only once had she ever felt like this
When her father had died
That night She decided
She was done
And took a blade
To her skin
She bled
And it poured
Her mother came home early
And found her
Lucky her,
In the car
On the way
She felt herself fading
Just like now
And she knows
that she lived the first time
But now she's not so sure.
Luke walks down the hall
With a nurse nearby
Watching him to make sure he
Doesn't collapse.
His footing wavers as he turns the corner.
To see his children
Resting in glass beds.
"We tested both
For Jade's disease.
The girl is a carrier
But her blood will clot normally."
Luke sighs in relief.
"The boy has a mild case
And can take blood thckeners
To help, he can't be cured
But he can be as good as normal
with the pills."
She assures and Luke nods
Taking in the sight
of his two beauties.
"Hi, Jake"
He waves to the baby boy
And then sees the girl.
"Hope, Welcome to the world."
