Chapter: 2
The Black Ninja

I blinked. And blinked again, my eyes trying to gauge the situation. In front of me, there was a lean-built, tall, and dark (No, really! He was all clad in black, the only contrast was his pale, dusty golden skin) guy who was holding on to the fist Andrew had originally aimed at me. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in. The muscles of his arm that was holding on to the fist were tense and I actually saw Andrew wincing due to the tight hold. I couldn't help but raise my eyebrows at the sudden change in scenery. But I thanked my lucky stars, for not being beaten into a pulp.

It would've been quite difficult to explain my injuries to my family.

Andrew tried pulling his arm back from the Black Ninja but was failing in doing so. He was grasped in an unrelenting hold. "Seriously, Adam. This is none of your business." Adam, huh?

"I make it my business when idiots like you forget their morals to booze." Andrew tried to free his arm. But only when this Adam guy loosened his grip, did he get his arm back.

"I don't give a shit about morals," Andrew slurred.

"No surprise there. You're the perfect specimen of an asshole there is."

I think that statement got under Andrew's skin. Because he took a step forward to come face to face with our Black Ninja. Silently challenging him.

I had no idea what kind of look my saviour had on him because the whole time he simply had his back to me. But I knew he was serious when he said this, "I don't think you're in a place to challenge me. This girl already just handed your balls to you." He tipped his head towards me with the last sentence and the only glimpse I got of his face was a very angled jawline and fashionably trimmed stubble.

I couldn't help but smirk a little. You bet I did!

Letting my moment of pride pass, I made my way to a slightly stable Amelia and let the guys take over. I was aware of the concern etched on my face and it couldn't be helped, because she did have me worried there for a moment. "Are you okay?" I asked as I grabbed her arms and tried to inspect her for any injuries. She simply hugged me and let escape a few choked up sobs. Immediately, I hugged her back and rubbed her arms reassuringly, "Did he hurt you?"

She sniffed, "No. You rescued me, as always." She tried to loosen my strings of worry.

I backed away a little, grabbed her shoulders and gave her a serious-no-nonsense-look, "Yes. And I'm not always going to be there. So, you need to get your life straight." I knew it was harsh to say that to her after what she just went through but she needed to understand that she was messing up her life with her ridiculous routine of getting drunk, high, laid and with no whatsoever plans of her life after high school. There was also a fact that her habits were troubling her mother as well. She just looked at me and then turned her eyes down in guilt. I knew it was gonna take time for my words to sink in but, I hoped that this event would be a turning point. I gently gave her hand a squeeze, "I'll be back in a minute."

When I got back to where I left Andrew and Adam to deal with each other, I saw that Adam was no where to be found and Andrew was sitting in a corner. I didn't waste a breath in approaching him. Though, I was careful to keep a safe distance in case he decided to go rabid on me again. "I'm going to report you for sexual harassment and assault. Just wanted you to know so you're prepared for jail," my tone was straight and to the point.

"You can try, bitch," he said bitterly as he got up.

"Oh, I will and I'm very much tempted to do that just now. And you know I can." Of course, he knew. Everyone knew I could. My father was the appointed judge of this district and with very persuasive influence.
