Chapter: 17
Transcendency 101 (Part - I)"Come on, get up already. It's 2 pm."
Ashley groaned from under the endless layers of covers she was hiding in, "I don't wanna!"
I rolled my eyes as I pulled the covers easily off of her grimacing face and flicked her forehead. "I got you some milk and aspirin. Now get up. It's either me or mum. And you know how much she disapproves hungover 16 year olds."
She hissed like a snake, "Could've said that without inflicting pain on my tender forehead." She slowly sat up against the bedrest and looked at me blearily, "God, what happened last night? I can't remember anything after Sean left for the bathroom."
I shrugged casually as I sat on the edge of her bed and handed her a cool glass of milk which she gratefully nursed in her hands. "You passed out. I was looking for you by then and found you in one of the rooms upstairs. Adam and I took the liberty of gathering all three of you drunkards to the car." The last part was at least the truth. "It was past 2 am when we got home. Dragging you all to your rooms was the worst. I swear, you weigh a ton Ash. Thank God, Adam helped me out with Aiden and Thomas."
"I'll try not to be offended by your comment on my weight. But..." she trailed off in that sneaky grin of hers as her gaze sharpened like a damn hyena. Yes, a hyena! Sue me!
"What?" I asked her warily.
"Just spit it out already? Are you and Adam together, or what?"
I sighed dramatically, pausing for effect. "Well, I guess? I mean, we did kiss-"
"YOU WHAT?" she screeched so loud that I couldn't help but wince. "YOU KISSED HIM AND YOU-"
I stuffed a pillow in her face and gave her the most intimidating glare I could manage, "If I hear another word come from that mouth of yours I'm gonna make you swallow the damn pillow!" I threw her back while taking the glass from her hands.
Ash huffed as she pulled the pillow away from her face and then gawked at me, "You did though, kiss, I mean?"
I rolled my eyes, "No. I just thought it cool to tell you that."
She stared at me blankly.
I gave her an exasperated look. "We did, is it really that surprising? I live in the same world as you, you know."
"Did what? Why are you both screaming midday?" Thomas groaned from the door as he fell on the stranded bean bag in my baby sister's room, head held in both his hands.
"Yeah, don't you have any consideration for poor hungovers?" and that was Aiden as he smacked Ashley up her head while taking the glass of milk that was in my hand, earning a glare from his twin in the process.
"That was mine!" she exclaimed.
"And now it's not," he sat down on the floor against the bed and gulped down the whole thing in a moment's notice. He threw his head back and looked my way. "I love you."
My eyes widened, "Excuse me?" Siblings do not, I reapeat, do not- ever confess love to each other. That's just against the norm, unless there's favours involved.
"If it weren't for you, I'd never have gotten the chance to get to know that girl."
"What girl?" Ashley asked with suspicion laced in her voice.
"The one he's been going on and on about since last week!" Thomas made a gagging face, "Jeez, he's even worse than Ray. Damn love-sick puppy."
To which Aiden replied with throwing one of Ashley's bedroom slippers in his face.
