Derek's POV

Upstairs on the second floor, I began to move boxes around the room making myself focus on something other than seeing Peter and Savannah kiss in my head.

Stumbling on a few smaller boxes of the floor, I dropped one of them on the floor and heard something break inside.

"Crap."

Setting the things beside me, I crouch down and lift up the box to see Laura's wedding cake topper in pieces.

"Why do I have this?" I whispered.

Hearing the metal doors down below slide open, the smell of Savannah's shampoo drifts up to the second floor.

"Savannah?" I questioned as I came down the spiral stairs.

"Oh, Hi."

"Hi?"

Standing in the middle of the room with her arms crossed in front of her chest, her eyes glance around the room.

"You have a really nice place."

"Thanks...actually it's the entire building that's mine."

Lifting her eyebrows, she cracks a smile before seeing her black duffle bag sitting on a chair.

"Is that my bag?"

"Um, yeah. You keep it here-"

"Why would I keep it in your house?"

"So that I can bring it with me...just in case you forget yours at home."

Narrowing her eyes, she strides over to the chair and picks up the bag before turning around to face me.

"So, if I can ask...why are you here?"

"Peter said that most of my clothes were here, which I don't get because I hardly know you...only that we're best friends?"

"Who told you that?" I blurted out excitedly.

"Peter. He said we were really good friends, best friends...actually."

Clenching my jaw tightly, I could feel the pulse of my blood circulating around my cheeks.

"Yeah, we are."

Showing her where she keeps for clothes, she casually packs them in her bag before slowly walking past me and over to the front door.

"So, um...thanks. For letting me pick up my things."

"Yeah, no problem."

As I watch her leave my loft, I forced myself to run after her int he hallway.

"Wait, Savannah!"

"Yeah." She whispered as she turned around with her big gray eyes.

Standing there, holding onto the edge of the door frame, I took a step into the hallway.

"Where are you planning to stay?"

"At Peter's apartment...my room at my mother's house is totally destroyed and he doesn't know if she'll fix it."

"Oh...okay."

Smiling back at me, I do that same but when she turns around my smile fades.

Dropping my clothes off at Peter's apartment, I see him exiting the front door.

"Hey." I smiled.

"Hey, you went to go and get your clothes?" He asked.

"Um, yeah. Derek was there, he didn't mind."
