Driving past the 'Welcome to California' sign, I leaned my head against my hand as I drove with the other. The cold glass window reflected my profile as I drove past miles and miles of trees down the road.
Emma and Dani were asleep in the back, while Derek sat next to me in the passenger's seat keeping me company. His eyes glued to the road, as his chest risen and sunk quietly.
We were just a few miles away from Beacon Hills when at the end of the road I see train tracks running across the pavement and into the woods.
"What the hell?" I whispered as I came to a complete stop and turned off the car.
Curiously, Derek and I take off out seat belts, open the door and stare out into the distance.
"What's going on?" Emma asked in a groggy tone.
"Stay in the car," I whispered as I jump out and walked towards the tracks.
"What the hell is that?"
"The Wild Hunt," Derek added.
Turning my head down to where the tracks were heading, I stepped onto the wooden frame before continuing my way down.
"Where are you going?" Derek asked.
"I'll be right back, I'm going to see where these tracks lead."
Stepping down from the road, I jumped off about 5 feet of concrete to actually land on dirt and grass from the woods.
Walking on the tracks, I could feel a slight vibration coming from the metal bars on the side.
"Savannah?" I heard them yell in the distance.
Continuing into the woods, I followed the tracks to the edge of the cliff where, without any kind of foundation for them to settle on, it had extended itself across the mile gap between us and Beacon Hills.
"Savannah!"

Grabbing Emma and Derek's hands they pull me up and sat me on the concrete.
"What did you find?" Emma asked.
"It keeps going. Even across the mile gap, it leads to Beacon Hills."
"Do you think the hunt is coming?"
"No doubt. Douglas's plan was to make sure he was the only one left." I whispered.
"Then let's go. We can spread out when we get to the hospital." Dani said.
Getting back into the car, Dani drives over the tracks and across to the other side before she pressed her foot on the gas.
"Call Scott and Liam, they might know what's going on," Emma said.
~
Driving up to the hospital, Derek goes off into his car, while Emma and Dani run into the woods trying to find more train tracks.
"Scott!" I yelled walking into the waiting room.
"Scott, are you here?"
"Savannah!" Liam yelled.
Running down the hall, I see the both of them staring at the exact same tracks we've seen around Beacon Hills.
"So, I wasn't imagining them," I whispered.
"You saw them?" Scott said.
"Yeah, a few miles away from the welcome sign. Emma and Dani are in the woods seeing if we can find where they're coming from."
