Stepping out of the shower, I grabbed one of the towels on the hanger beside me and dried myself off just when Derek walks in.

"You got a call from Scott." He whispered, peeking his head through the door.

"What did he say?"

Wrapping the towel around my body, I headed for the door as Derek held it open for me.

"Something about an Anuk-Ite?" He whispered.

"...tell Chris I won't be able to make it to the meeting later today." I sighed.

"I'll tell Arraya to pay him a visit."

Grabbing some clothes out from the closet, I picked out a brown A-line skirt with bronze buttons down the front and a blue, black, orange, and white striped turtleneck before I put on my black ankle boots.

Standing up from the bed, Derek leaned against the cement pillar as stared at me while drinking his coffee.

"What?" I chuckled.

"Nothing...you look nice." He whispered.

Trying to push back my cheeky smile, I walked over to the closet near the door and grabbed my leather jacket from the hanger.

"Derek..." I called out for him.

"...Yeah?"

Coming out from behind the door, I turned around, grabbing the back of his neck and kissed him sincerely before pulling away.

"What was that for?" He asked.

"...just in case," I added quietly.

Walking past him, I started to head downstairs to the front door when I hear Derek running down the steps behind me.

"Wha-"

Slamming his lips to mine, the rush of his body running down the stairs nearly knocked all the wind from my lungs. I hardly had a moment to react, but softly, I pulled away and arched up into his broad chest feeling both his arm wrapped tightly around my waist.

"What was that for?" I asked him.

"To make sure you come back to me." He whispered, before slowly letting my feet touch the floor again.

Stepping out of my BMW, the wind coming from the east blew my hair opposite of my face sending leaves flying across the school parking lot.

Passing the double door, I turned the left corner once I made it down the hall, where Scott was hiding away near the stairs.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"You made it. Did you listen to the voicemail?" He said quietly.

"I was in the shower."

Handing me an old flip phone, I pressed it up against my ear as Scott grabbed me by the shoulders and hid me in the dark corner behind him.

'Something's happening in Beacon Hills, to the people here. I just...' Hearing the female voice exhale, I glance up at Scott.

'I need to know everyone there with you is okay, so can you just please, call me, please?'

"Where did you find this?" I asked him.

"Malia and I went to go check out the pack she was talking out, we ended finding 6 dead, including one without a face."

"Do you know who she is?"

"Liam's inside the classroom with her, right now."

Stepping aside, I moved closer to the back door of the classroom as I overheard Liam's conversation with her.
