A Few Days Later.
Walking past the glass doors in our Loft's building, I turned the street corner where my car was parked underneath a tree. The moon was still out as a thin ray of light rose up to the horizon.
Dogs howled up at the sky while I threw my duffle bag in the passenger seat beside me before I turned my car on.
"Have a good day, Savannah." Mrs. James said as she was walking her 3-year-old shitzu around the block.
"You too, Mrs. James. Take care."
Pulling down the gear shift, I pulled my arm back up against the passenger chair to look behind me, when I immediately pushed down the brakes when I saw Lori standing behind my car.
"Lori?"
Turning off the engine, I slide out the car and to the back of my car.
"I found this. It's Brett's and he's missing and I heard gunshots." She blurted out rapidly.
"How do you know this is his blood?" I asked.
"Because he's my brother. It's mine too. Can't you smell Scott's?"
"Well, he's my half-brother...so, no," I whispered.
Handing me the metal pole in her hands, I looked up at the twisted bloody end where it was once connected to the mesh net.
"Alright, get in."

Driving my car over to Beacon Hill's High school, I reached for my phone in my back pocket and gave it to Lori.
"Here. Text Scott, tell him to meet me in the parking ASAP."
Hearing her click her life away, I turned a sharp corner which led me just a few back roads behind the school.
"Where are we going?" Lori asked.
"There's someone I need to pick up."
Continuing to drive down the dark street, I could feel a shadow follow me from the side of my window.
"Savannah...what's that?"
Looking past the signs, I saw 4 yellow 'DO NOT CROSS' signs at the end of the road.
Slamming my brakes as hard as I could, we stopped just a few inches before hitting the front of my bumper.
"Why are we here?"
"Just wait..."
Rolling down the back two windows, I could hear the sound of heavy breathing and grunts coming from both sides of me.
"I found you!" Emma yelled as she jumped against the door behind me.
"Where's Dani?"
"Right here? Let's go."
Waiting for them to get into the car, I turned back around and took the second left turn to the school's back parking lot where Scott, Liam, and Malia were waiting at.
"Did you find it already?"
~
Standing beside a large oak tree, I watched as Liam used his knowledge of hunting 101 to good use.
"Here. It's his phone." Liam said, picking it up just when Lori takes it from his hands.
"I think he set a trap."
"He's fighting back," Scott whispered.
"Now we know he's alive."
Wrapping my hands around the arrow stuck on the tree, I looked at the arrow head.
