I walk into that little coffee shop on the corner, And as I walk inside, I see a boy standing there.
"Hello, what can I get you today?" He says nicely.
"A large Flat White please." I say trying not to stuff up.
"No worries, that's $4.45."
"Thank you."
"One large flat white!" The boy calls out.
I walk up to receive my coffee, "Thank you, have a good day."
"Yes you too! Enjoy it while it lasts!" He says politely.
I go about my day as usual and feel so overwhelmed with the emotions about my father that I can't sleep. So I decide to read. It's now 2am, and I slowly drift off to sleep reading, the book half open on top of me.
THE NEXT MORNING
I wake, and quickly get dressed, I had a yearning for coffee, which I liked best- at the coffee shop on the corner.
"Hello again." I say to the same boy who served me yesterday.
"Ah, yes I remember you, what can I get for you today?"
"Large Flat White please, to takeaway."
"Sure thing, $4:50."
"Cheers."
"Thank you."
I am called up again. I take me coffee and the cute boy tells me to have a nice day.
I go to take a sip before realising that there's something written on it. "Hi, I'd like to get to know you. 032147890, ~Tom.
I smile. My day has been made. I have just received a guy's number, for the first time. He seemed nice, he was cute, and I didn't have to ask for it, but what does this mean? I ask myself. I think I sure as hell am asking for it.
