I sit at my desk tapping my fingers anxiously against it as I wait for the sound on the other end of the line, I hear a muffled noise.
"Hello, It's..."
"Tom," I cut him off, "how are you?"
"Hey mystery girl, you just can't stay away from me can you?"
"Guess not, besides, my assignments done, what else am I supposed to do?"
"I don't know, but I don't mind you talking to me."
"Are you sure, because I was starting to think I've probably been a little annoying lately."
"No, you're forward. I like it. I've never," he pauses, "I've not met someone like you."
"Oh yeah? How so?"
"Not used to a girl being so straight forward like you are, your very confident. It's nice."
"Thank you, I think."
"Yeah, so if you don't mind me asking, because you're so forward, before I miss my chance... can I take you out?"
"Like, a date?"
"Yes like a date. Are you free tomorrow night, my shift finishes at 4:30?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact I am. How does dinner sound?"
"Sounds great, I'll see you at 6. I can pick you up?"
"Yeah okay, I'll text you my address, hang on."
I fumble through the letters and send it through and I hear the vibration on the other end.
"Got it?" I ask.
"Got it." He confirms.
"I'll see you tomorrow Tom."
"Will do, mystery girl."
