I woke up on my couch dazed and confused, then I remembered what happened last night. I look around and could hear the faint sound of the water bubbling in the kettle, and I knew he was still here. I smiled to myself. I pull up the blanket that he must've placed on me over my knees. I see him walking towards me. "Morning" he says, "I hope you don't mind, but I made you coffee, it's a Flat White, I put an extra shot in it cause I thought you may need it."
"Well, I don't know what I expected letting in a stranger off the street, but I'll make sure there's a next time if there's coffee involved."
"Sounds perfect." He looks outside my living room window. Then back to me. "Are you feeling better?"
"I am now."
"Look, I don't expect you to tell me anything about what caused it, but when you're ready, just know, I'll be here. Ready to listen."
"Thanks Tom. That's really sweet of you."
I put my legs down and sip my coffee before gently placing it down on the table. "You know, you're definitely the best coffee maker I know."
"Is that right?" He says folding his arms with a confident smirk forming on his face. I patted the seat next to me on the couch. He sat down. "It's such a beautiful day outside." I was thinking aloud.
"I agree. But, it's not as beautiful as you."
"You use that one on all the girls you meet?"
"Just one actually."
"Oh."
"You, silly."
"Oh, so you've never..."
"Well, sorta but that didn't last more than two weeks, so I don't really count it."
"Fair enough, I feel flattered that you, that you like me. I think? Wait are you sure you like me??"
"Mystery girl. If I didn't, I wouldn't be making you coffee in your own home."
"Well yeah Mr Sassy Pants, I get that. But I'm a hard girl to get to know, and I've got a really troubled past."
"I know that. I like you a lot. I'm willing to do whatever it takes."
Whatever it takes. That's what dad had said. I fall silent for a minute.
I look into his amazing eyes. "Coffee shop boy. Can I tell you something?"
"Mystery girl, you can tell me anything."
"I think I'm falling for you." I burst out laughing. "That sounded so cheesy and a lot better in my head."
We both break out into an uncontrollable laughter.

Silence.

"I'm falling for you too." He squeezes my hand before getting up and walking out the door.
"What just happened?" I said to myself. Oh boy, there is no holding back now.
