Codename: Shadow (Newt Scamander)

Leaving scars: 1911

It's after lunch. Newt did come back from the hospital wing but he still has a few scars on his hands. I feel terrible for what I did. And it's not even over! I try to sneak back to the common room but Oscar catches me.

"Come on. I know where Newt is."

He leads me to the Forbidden Forest where I see Newt drawing. I hide behind a tree and Oscar talks to me.

"I know a good spell. Come here."

He whispers a spell to me and I nod my head. My hand shakes as I grip my wand. I peek out from the tree and point my wand.

"Fulmen."

I watch as a blue lightning bolt strikes his work. It burns a hole through it. He looks around as I flatten my back against the tree. I look back at Oscar. He holds four fingers up, signaling that I need to hit Newt with four bolts of lightning to satisfy him. I bite my lip.

"Fulmen."

I wince as the bolt hits Newt really hard. It sends him flying backwards. I hide against the tree again. I wait a bit before I ignite the spell again.

Three lightning bolts later Oscar smirks at me.

"Nice doing business with you, Gisburn." He whispers.

I scowl at him. I turn back to Newt and notice that his cloak is stained with blood at the back. I can't watch him in pain any longer.

"Newt! Are you ok?"

I help him up as he winces in pain.

"I-I don't know. What are you doing here?"

I see Oscar out of the corner of my eye.

"Tell him that you hurt him. Or else." He whispers.

I gulp.

"Well, you see, erm, I'm, I kinda, I did this." I say.

My blonde hair flops over my now red face. I look up and my soft, blue eyes connect with his hurt, green ones.

"You did this?" He asks.

"Yes. But I'm sorry."

I take a step closer to him but he steps backwards.

"No. Don't come near me you, you betrayer!"

He keeps walking backwards away from me. I see a tree root sticking up and out. Newt's going to trip!

"Newt, watch out!" I shout.

But I'm not quick enough. He trips over and lands flat on his back. On his scars. I see his face screwing up with pain and I help him up.

"Newt! Please, I'm sorry. Forgive me." I whisper, tears rolling down my face.

Still in pain, he looks at me, hurt in his eyes.

"I want to forgive you..."

"Well, please do. I would never hurt you, you know that. You know me."

I see Newt's eyes shining with tears as he shakes his head.

"I thought I did. I thought I knew you. I guess I was wrong."

I stare at him. He folds his arms and looks at the ground, tears rolling down his face.

"Just go away."

I reach out my hand to his shoulder to comfort him but I pull it away. Defeated, I walk back to Hogwarts and to my dorm. I flop onto my bed.

So much for me and Newt being together. I guess it's not going to work out after all.
