Joyce ran to were the gunshot was heard. Of course it was rather hard due to her only being able to hear it once. But let's just say she managed. After what seemed like forever Joyce saw a house. "This must be were the sound came from!" She said to herself as she quietly snuck up to the front door. She jiggled the rusty handle and it opened with ease.
Once inside Joyce saw what was before her. Harry was laying on the floor, with blackish blood pouring from his back. Thank the gods he was still conscious. "Harry!? What happened?" Joyce asked rushing to the armless man's side.
"ymereJ..." Harry mumbled, in obvious annoyance.
"...oh, right." Joyce said.
Without another word she pulled into her dress pocket and brought out a bundle of bandages. "I'm no doctor but I think there's still a bullet in your side, you did get shot right?"
Harry just nodded, putting his head to the ground, not wanting Joyce to see him in pain. Joyce remained silent and also pulled out her knife. "Man I wish I had some tweezers." She groaned looking into Harry's bullet wound.
Jeremy leaned against the door, he had thought he had heard another voice. One of a child. "Jeremy? What's wrong?" Majory asked with concern plastered on her face.
"I don't know! It sound like a little kid.."
"A kid! What if it is one! We can't leave it out there with that thing! Open the door!" Majory exclaimed.
Jeremy nodded and brought his attention to the door. His hand paused for a moment as if he was in fear. NO he wasn't afraid of anything! With a determination demeanor Jeremy opened the door swiftly.
Joyce nearly stabbed harry's spine as the door was slammed open. "Holy shit, Kid get away from that thing!" Jeremy shouted nearly tripping to get to the small child.
Joyce's eyes widened for a moment at the sight of Jeremy. How could he not be dead?! "J.....Jeremy?" Joyce asked now more confused than shocked.
Majory pushed Jeremy away to get a closer view. "Oh my god! Joyce is that you?!" She shouted rushing to her.
"Yeah it's me?" Joyce said.
"AHEM." Harry sighed, saying the only word he could.
"Oh! Sorry!" Joyce said looking back into Harry's wound.
She was abruptly stopped by Jeremy saying once more to get away from Harry. Joyce shook her head. "NO! One of you shot him! I'm not going to let him die, he's not like most of the mutants, HE HAS FEELINGS, he remembers me!" Joyce yelled.
Jeremy was taken back by her shouting, but then took notice of how calm Harry was acting. He had no choice but to agree with her.
Meanwhile
Salad remained silent as he stared at the cockroach. He was completely emerged in what it was doing. Guilt came out from the bedroom, he wasn't thinking straight. "Hey....green guy? We're so you keep your knives.....?" He asked.
Salad peeked up from the roach and smiled politely. "O-oh! Let me show you, n-nice young man!" He said, getting up from his armchair.
Guilt smiled nervously as he followed him to the "kitchen". Salad showed Guilt the stove where a rusty knife was kept. Guilt glanced at the knife and then to Salad hesitantly. Firmly grasping it he placed the butt of the knife on the wall. "Hey, green g-guy." Guilt replied weakly.
Salad looked at Guilt acknowledging him. "I have to go see my daughter, tell Joyce I had to leave."
Salad being completely dumbfounded just smiled and nodded. Guilt grinned in response, and leaned against the wall, close to the sharp end of the knife. He yanked his head back, and pushed it against the blade, he did it over and over and over until he slumped to the ground, blood dripping from the side of his head.
Salad stood there motionless, he bent down to Guilts body and poked it. "Uhm....it appears that you have a headache, do y-you need any medical a-attention??"
