Joyce kicked a rock as she walked along the sandmud ground. Harry limped behind her, followed by Majory and Jeremy. "So, how did you guys manage to survive this long?" Joyce asked turning her head to them.

Majory was the first to speak up. "When the Great War begun Jeremy and I hid in our safety cupboard. How did you survive?"

Joyce thought for a moment, how did she survive? "Uh, I don't know? It's all kind of a blur to me." She replied looking back to the ground.

Within 5 more minutes of silence Joyce could just about make out Salad's house. Just then she realized that she had not told Marjory and Jeremy about him. She came to a halt and shuffled to face her "friends". "Uhm...before you go any further I just wanted to tell you that....Hubert is in there." Joyce replied solemnly.

Jeremy and Majory's faces lit up for a moment, but returned to confusion. "Why do you sound so nervous? What's wrong with him?" Jeremy asked.

"He....he lost his memory during the Great War, a huge chunk of it at least... he still remembers names of us, but I doubt he actually remembers any relationships he had with you."

Joyce expected them to sound angry or shocked, but they weren't? "Well, AS LONG AS He'S alive! Right JeRemy?" Majory asked in a broken hopeful voice.

Jeremy just nodded sweetly, not wanting to upset his girlfriend. (Yes the ships have sailed, but you probably already knew that)  Joyce smiled in response as they began to travel the rest of the distance to Salas's house.

"H-hey, chap... You better g-ge..wake up be-before Joyce gets home. I-I wouldn't want you to sc-scare her...." Salad said, now sitting next to Guilt's lifeless body.

Salad waited patiently for a response, but when he received nothing but silence, his eyes twitches a bit. His throat burned, holding back some tears. "I don't really e-enjoy b-being alone y-ya know..." Salad paused and glanced out of the small window. "I hope J-Joyce and M-Milford come back soon....."
