Joyce kicked a rock sending it into a nearby trash can. Jeremy kept his eyes locked on the trail. No words had been exchanged since last night. Joyce was thinking about Guilt. He was on her mind for the longest time. She wondered if she had remembered him before the war. Maybe so. She grinned and looked up at Jeremy. He was still fixated on the trail.
The city around them looked worn, but the buildings still somehow managed to stand up properly, with the exception of a few toppled over homes. "How long have you been living with Hubert..?" He finally asked.
"Salad? About... 3 years or so..." Joyce replied.
"Years??? Dang kid, I don't know how you do it" he laughed a bit.
"Yeah, to be completely honest I like him way more this way."
Jeremy went silent. The trail ended, and they looked up. They were in front of a giant radio tower. The trail ended at the opening.

"Oh my...." Marjory walked around the room.
Rubble and dust moving around her feet. She kneeled over to the two toys that had survived and picked up the horse. "This is that horse Hubert kept on his desk...." She whispered quietly.
"That must of been a m-mighty strong s-storm huh." Salad mentioned, staying put.
"Uh yeah I suppose." Majory replied solemnly.
Red hair dangled in her face as she picked up the bear. She held the two toys close. "We need to leave Salad, do you mind helping me look for some things?"
"O-of course!"
The two started to look around the house. That mutant would be back, and they had to leave soon.
