So, yeah that craziness happened. We ended up at one of the hotels on 5th avenge that I never even heard of. When we got settled in Aunt Sarah and Jennifer started explaining everything. To how my parents met to our birth. It was a lot to take in. What did they tell us, you might ask? Well this is what they said,
"That Dad was one of the most powerful wizards in the whole magically community, and mom was an ordinary witch, fast forward to our birth. They said that we both inherit both of mom's and dad's powers that explains our sun and moon necklaces, and most witches aren't traceable until their thirteenth birthday which mine's was two days ago and that explains why those men called Shadow Trackers attacked us." All caught up now? Good. After she explained the whole witch thing, we told them what happened to grandma. Tears filled in both of their eyes and mine. Sarah started sobbing and Jennifer hugged her and then us. CJ was the first one to pull away from the hug and asked, "So mom and dad didn't die in a fire?" CJ asked.
Aunt Sarah wiped her eyes and made a sighed.
"No, they didn't," Aunt Sarah said. "On April 19, 2000 six months after CJ was born, there was this war between the Shadow Trackers against the Witches, Wizards, and Warlocks. I never really knew what happened to your mom and dad but, all I knew is that they fought heroically. I didn't know how they died. I was ten, I don't remember much." Aunt Sarah explained with a shrug.
"How come you never told us?" CJ asked. "Your grandmother told us not to, not until you were ready ." Aunt Jennifer sighed.
"We'll be good here for a few days." Aunt Jennifer said as she got up and smoothed out her skirt. "I'm going to check in on some things, I'll be right back."
"Check on what kind of things?" CJ asked. Jennifer turned around and looked at CJ and smiled. "With the Council." After that, she left the hotel room. I can tell she felt guilty about something or at least something was playing over and over in her head. Aunt Sarah sat down next to me, with the tension and grief surrounding the room made it awkward enough than it already was.
"What's the Council?" I asked.
"Not what, but who."
"Okay then who's the council."
"The council is a group of witches. They usually are the ones that keep mortal from finding out about us." Aunt Jennifer explained. Before I got to ask another question, Aunt Sarah looked like she'd just seen a ghost.
"What's wrong?" Aunt Jennifer asked. "What did you see?"
"The ring," Aunt Sarah said. "The ring it's...it', gone!"
I looked at Aunt Sarah and asked, "What ring?"
"Your father's ring," Jennifer said. "Remember when Sarah said that your father's a very powerful wizard?" I nodded my head yes.
"I still find it hard to believe that, Oliver's a powerful wizard. That dork." Sarah laughed.
"I'm being serious, Sarah!" Aunt Jennifer yelled. "That ring has power, that I can't explain. That's mostly why the Shadow trackers attacked us." Jennifer explained.
"Okay then let's get the ring, back." I said. "I mean, we know who took it."
"It's not that easy, Jason." Sarah said as she sat up.
"Sarah's right when your dad was your age, a lot of users of black magic tried to get their hands on that ring Especially, Tenebris."
"Who's Tenebris?" CJ asked.
"Tenebris is the Shadow Lord." Aunt Sarah explained.
"He's really powerful and his magic is stronger."
"That and you can't control your powers, it's best to let the council handle it."
"No, I rather go after them myself especially what they did to grandma. To our parents." I hissed.
"Don't you think I want to revenge their death's as well, Jason?!"
"We'll learn as we go," CJ said. "You said it yourself that we'll understand more if you teach us yourself?" CJ asked.
"Yes but."
"Okay then, you can teach us some witchcraft stuff and we'll do the rest on our own." CJ explained. That was probably one of the most smartest plan that she probably ever came up with.
"Learning the craft isn't easy, CJ."
"Come on, we're both fast learners." CJ begged.
"Alright, we start now."
