A dark place. A very dark place. Just the three of us. Shye, me, and Drake. Drake was running around everywhere, screaming for Tanyra.
Shye was looking around, too. But not as frantically as Drake. Even I was searching. We entered a place, sort of a beach, that was surrounded by large rocks. Entering it, we found ourselves in a maze of rocky caves, that weren't too small to check in a glance. So, we parted, and all of a sudden, I found myself feeling a bit dizzy, then normal again. I took in my surroundings, which had changed, and a place which seemed to be a rock hall was revealed to me. I just turned around to observe the situation more minutely, and I found Tany behind me, staring straight ahead, no emotion in her eyes.
"Tany!"
She was hypnotized, or so I thought. Anyway, I enchanted the spell Drake had taught me to use for linking souls, which was to be used either to bring a person out of some kind of state, like hypnosis, or to keep a person safe from something.
"Cresenta Strowaldo."
"Irwin!"
She came out of hypnosis in a record two seconds.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes...I don't know...I was just standing there...you all...then.."
"Let it be. Don't strain your brain. Now we have to just get out of here."
"But-"
"We would have to contact Drake. I will do it right away."
"No. I will do it. You used the-"
"Soul linking spell."
"Right. That makes it a whole lot easier."
"Does it?"
"Wait. Leviopal Shtrostus."
"Drake?"
The she started talking with him, through that spell, but I couldn't hear it at all. Meanwhile, I just looked around the place. I saw a huge rock, that had a kind of circle on it, painted golden, I guess. I went and touched it.
It showed no movement.
I heard Tanyra call me, so I turned around, and went to her. She told me the spell, and we recited it in our minds several times so we could remember it forever.
"Stilloptimus ominoprobe."
I took one last look at the circle that had drawn my attention, and I was really surprised to see it shining. And what's more? The circle was shining with two faces appearing on it. Mine, and Shye's.
The next minute, I found myself next to Shye and Drake, and Shye running towards me, me catching her, also, Drake and Tan's reunion.
A minute later, we enchanted the spell that could take us out of there.
"Amoston Strophalise."
We didn't go back as expected. We entered a hallway, not big enough for the four of us to fit side by side. We used the only option we could use. We strated walking to wherever it would take us.
I was telling Shye about everything that had happened, when we felt something fall on us. I felt something dig into my stomach, and heart, and head, and I felt a pain all over my body. But I was still there, even though pain was screaming all over me. I knew I was going to die, but the final and worst pain came from the thorn that I had fallen on, and had hit at the same place. The back of my neck. I was tightly holding on to Shye's hand next to me, but as I felt my soul lift from my body, I chose to feel Shye's hand the last, instead of any pain in my body. And I felt it loosen against my loosening hand. Shye was dying, too, with the same pain as me.
