I closed the tap and wiped my face for the fifth time. It's been five months since she died. She never knew I was alive. Trying to make a back up plan. That what she had seen was due to Amyra's spell.
"Ashton! Are you okay?"
"Yep, completely fine, why?"
"I'm calling you downstairs for dinner since the past fifteen minutes, son..."
"Oh..."
Okay..I missed her too much. And she wasn't alive now.
I wish I was able to tell her I what I had found from the spell book. I wish I could tell her all of it was going to repeat over and over again, and that I had stopped it. I wish I could tell her that I never died, it was just a spell by Amyra, through whom I had finally got the controls. I wish I could tell her to be careful and not take any step in haste. I wish I could tell her what I felt for her, and ask if she felt the same. But the chance was gone. She was gone. And if I could let her rest in peace, not wanting to repeat this in any of her lives, all I could do was hide the controls and forget that I still can use the spells. And I would do that.
"I'm fine, mom. Just wanted to spend some time alone. Not hungry at all."
"You sure, son? Because I made your favourite pasta for dinner."
Even though I liked pasta too much, that brought back "pasta night with Avora" memories to me. So, it made me feel even more not-hungry.
"Go ahead mom. I'm not hungry at all."
I smiled at her. But I didn't feel it.
She left the room, looking back at me once. I'm sure she must've seen right through me. I collapsed to my bed, and closed my eyes. Then I felt something hit my head hard.
"...I had told you it has it's own destruction system, hadn't I, dear Ash?...." I heard that familiar voice tell me, and the world around me blacked out.
