It's been about a week since Taylor played her show in Vegas. Now, we're back in New York. We were enjoying the relaxation before the touring kicked into full gear.
Taylor came into my room this morning while I was reading a book called "Looking for Alaska."
"Hey, I called my doctor a couple minutes ago and he said he can squeeze in an appointment to get that cast taken off." Taylor said.
"Oh, I can have it taken off next time I'm at base."
"Yeah, but you've worn it long enough surely and it's not good to wear it for too long."
"Yeah, thanks for getting the appointment. What time?"
"11:15."
"Okay." I nod.
"I was thinking maybe we could go out for breakfast and shop a little before your appointment."
"That sounds good I'll get dressed." I said.
Meredith was curled up on a chair by the window in my room sleeping peacefully. I've come to really love that cat. It was a nice change from not having any animals around.
I wore a pair of high waisted shorts with a black lace up body suit and black combat boots. Taylor said I was good at putting outfits together and would help me figure out what to wear. At first she always had to pick out my outfits because I came up with some interesting combinations, but now I was learning.
I've learned a lot of things since I've been living with Taylor, like how to do my hair and makeup, bake, take care of the cats, and relax. Sometimes I feel silly for not knowing how to do normal things, but Taylor says we only know what we've been taught and I'm still learning.
A person would think being Taylor Swift's body guard would be high stress because you're constantly going places and going on tour, but it's been the most peaceful experience in my life. Taylor finds time to relax when she can. She says it's important to take care of yourself. It's always relaxing to watch Grey's Anatomy marathons. I've seen every single episode so far.
If there's one thing I diffidently know I underestimated about Taylor is her talent. It's not just her voice and performances, but it's also everything else. The girl can bake. She doesn't just poor in a box of cake mix either.

Flashback
I'm sitting on a kitchen stool in the middle of the day after lunch. Taylor opened a cabinet and rummaged through a few cookbooks. She found the one she was looking for and set it in front of me with a smile.
"Close your eyes." She said.
I did as she told me to do, knowing nothing bad was going to happen.
"Okay keep them closed and open the book." She instructs and I blindly open the book.
"Okay now keeping your eyes closed place your finger on a page." I put my finger on a page and waited for what Taylor had to say.
"Now open your eyes." She said.
The page I was pointing to had a picture of a cake with strawberries on it. The desert was captioned, "Strawberry Cheesecake Cake."
"Perfect, I have strawberries and I'm sure all the other ingredients as well.
"So we're going to make this?"
"Yeah we are!"
She gets out all the ingredients and the mixing bowls. Instead of doing all the work while I sat and watched she told me what to do and I combined all the ingredients. Then, I placed the batter in the oven.
"Now we need to make the filling and the icing." She said, and to think I thought that was all there was to it.
We made strawberry filling and vanilla frosting from scratch. Taylor told me what to do and had me do most of the work while she gave me tips on what to do.
We picked up some of the mess in the kitchen and by the time we got all of that done, the cake was done baking.
"Okay you need to cut the cake in half." Taylor said.
I sliced it strait across. Taylor was impressed by my cutting skills to which I informed her my training had taught me.
"Now, put a layer of icing over the top of the bottom piece."
I spread the icing then she had me spread the filling over the icing and top the top layer on top of it. I iced all around the rest of the cake. It didn't turnout very pretty.
"As long as it tastes good is all that matters and besides this was your first time baking a cake." She said.
"Thank you for letting me do it."
"You're welcome. I love showing you how to do fun things. Maybe you can teach me some of your moves."
I laughed at the thought of Taylor becoming the real life Catastrophe.
Taylor took a picture of the cake before we dug into it. In that moment I knew I would alway remember this day and learning how to bake with Taylor.
