Didn’t know what this would be

Harry and Logan walked hand in hand as they talked animatedly in the supermarket, they were painfully hungover so there was an obvious sway to their steps and darkness under their eyes. Harry’s eyes were red and his head pounded, no amount of aspirin or water would make this hangover go away. Logan was talking about a photo shoot gone wrong on his stint in Milan and Harry smiled as he held Logan’s hand. It felt, kind of, well, nice. Nice to not be alone, to not be hiding in the shadows of his mind. He was seeing the sunshine peering between the dark, foul disguise he had given himself and it was good. With a smile he stopped at the lollies and sighed, Logan continued talking and Harry laughed along.

Some people recognised him but most didn’t, he was bruised and battered so he looked like the ‘hobo’ version of the pop star Harry Styles. For once he was grateful for the anonymity that his swollen face gave him. Logan turned and pulled him close, “Sweet as candy?” he teased.

Harry smirked and kissed him, he felt someone watching him but as he pulled away from Logan’s sweet embrace there was no one in the isle. “Mmm,” Harry whispered running a hand through Logan’s messy hair. “You taste good.”

“I bet,” Logan teased as he pulled away and began skipping down the isle. “How about bacon?”

“Ugh,” Harry groaned with a grin. “Amazing.”

His head pounded as he walked behind Logan lost in thought, although they weren’t in onesies this outing was frighteningly familiar to the ones he used to make with Louis. A time long ago where no one knew their names and they would spend the little money they’d earned to make breakfast for each other. Well, he smiled at the memory. He would usually be the one making breakfast, Louis was hopeless at cooking.

“Harry,” Logan called.

Harry blinked and then realised he hadn’t kept up and he was almost half an isle behind. “Yeah?”

“Caged or free range?”

Harry shrugged, “Free, obviously.”

“Yeah, of course!” Logan blushed and it was unusual to see him so vulnerable. Maybe Logan really did care about Harry.

Logan stopped in his tracks at the end of the isle and Harry nearly walked straight into him. “Actually,” Logan sounded a little out of breath. “Let’s go this way I don’t like the bacon here and-“

Harry frowned and cut Logan off, “What are you talking about this place is fine?” He giggled and tried to pull Logan along but Logan was stopped dead in his tracks and it was becoming obvious he was stalling.

“Wait, actually how about some candy?”

“Logan what are you doing?”

“I don’t feel well,” Logan lied.

Harry cocked his head and raised an eyebrow, “What the hell are you doing let’s just go and-“

“Harry wait!” Logan looked pale and desperate.

“What?” Harry snapped now getting annoyed.

Logan was pulling tightly on his arm, his feet dug into the ground. “I don’t feel well Harry, please!”

Harry frowned, “What’s wrong?”

He opened his mouth but before Logan could reply Harry saw someone standing at the end of the isle looking at a magazine and smiling.

“Harry please, let’s just leave?” Logan sounded like he was afraid.

And then he saw her and his stomach dropped, his face paled and he let out a loud gasp. “Jennifer?”
