verb

1. change the position, direction, or focus of.

❝Stars can't shine without its beloved darkness, sweetheart.

A simple chip bag would do. Even an air-filled kind would please him. As long as he found his chips, he knew he would be okay. That's what he had wished for. That's what he had always wished for. And besides - it wasn't like anyone else liked Honey Buddha Chips ... excluding (Name), who is happening to pull out the remaining Honey Buddha Chips from the shelf.

Saeyoung internally screeched, cried, sulked, and died inside simultaneously.

He didn't expect her to be here, of all places, much less take the last savoring meal from the shelf. That savoring meal that Saeyoung was dying to have. What was she doing here? Surely she wasn't here to kill him, right?

And that's when she looked his way. She waved. Hesitantly, he waved back, trying to think up of some excuse to tell her why he was here. What should he say? She would probably know him long enough to see through his lies. The truth shouldn't hurt her anyways, but it was too awkward to explain-

"Hello, Saeyoung!" greeted (Name), a grin evident on her face. "What brings you here at night?"

"I wanted to get some fresh air and happened to come here."

"That's nice. Oh, and isn't this your favorite kind of chips?"

He paused, noticing how she bought it so easily. Not like she bought the chips or anything, but she really bought his lie.

"It is," he replied, batting an eye. "Coincidentally, I planned to buy some tonight, but - um - apparently..."

Her eyes seemed to widen at that, and as Saeyoung would assume it to be either shock or surprise. Confused of her actions, he parted his lips to let his thoughts seep through. And despite him being allowed to speak, he was abruptly interrupted.

"You ... can have it. I'm sure you need the snack more than I do." said (Name), delicately placing the chip bag into his basket. "And besides, I already have another bag of chips anyways."

"Wait, really? You'd allow me to actually have it?"

"Of course! What's wrong with that?" she laughed. Then, she slowly turned, giving a small wave and a quiet bid of a goodbye, before walking away. However, as much as Saeyoung wanted to dismiss their encounter, he felt as if her offer was just 'too much'. Honey Buddha Chips are merely something that no one would want to share or give away, for how its savory goodness completely pleases the taste buds. Honey Buddha Chips were something that one is not able to resist. But for (Name), she shrugged it off like nothing without a valid point!

"(Name) ... wait."

She spun around in a careful pace, blinking for a moment to expect his statements.

"Um - we can probably ... share. You know, like how we used to, with pretzel crumbs and cream cheese." Saeyoung whispered, slowly trying to process his sudden suggestions. Such recommendations were mentioning a past in which he didn't want to linger in, but who could stop him? Just like old times, he thought, just this once will do.

"That's nice. Okay." she agreed, grinning. She looked adorned, appearing with her natural looks and casual clothes to complement it. Saeyoung admired that thing about her, most of the time - how she always did everything naturally. She never was perfect, but no one really is, either. And for her, it's very simple for him to realize how sincere or genuine she was when she does things.

And really, the grin easily proves that sincerity.

"(Name)! It's been awhile," Seo gasped, briskly adjusting her glasses. "or so. I'm sorry. I just really missed you. So, did it work?"

Saeyoung quickly took a glance towards (Name)'s general direction, avoiding her directly at the same time. Unfortunately for him, he had to go at least another night away from his humble abode - not that he minded -, but even so, he didn't complain. Where was he going though?

"I'm sure I have another mattress for you to use, Luciel." Hyun said from over his shoulder, adjusting his disguise that he happened to wear on from in the men's restroom a few minutes ago.

"Yeah. Luckily the credentials that you made were easily accepted and validated. I'm very grateful. Thank you."

"I-it's nothing, really. Being an Artist suites you." she replied, giving out a sheepish smile. "But really, you're very talented. I still have that sketch you gave me a few years back."

"I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of stuff." said Saeyoung, breathing out a sigh.

MC chuckled, "It's nothing to worry about. It's called an 'artist's talk'--"

"--it was never named that--" (Name) butted in with a glare.

"--in which you're never capable of bringing up just because you don't have the proper skills like (Name) here. But don't worry, I feel your pain as well."

"You're forcing me to join your side, aren't you." Saeyoung deadpanned, just as MC gave a slight, curt nod.

"I'm so lonely over here." said the distant, strayed voice of MC, who gently leaned her shoulder against Hyun's. Mentioned man's name had laughed upon that.

"Oh so lonely ... all by your own~!"

"Pssh, (Name) please no-" Seo snorted, covering her mouth as if to silence her already troubled laughter. "That's so sad-"

In result, (Name) continued to spurt out continuous nonsense, to the point where Saeyoung laughed as well. And as much as this should be taken seriously, Saeyoung rarely laughed nowadays. But really ...

Would it even matter anymore?
