Hyun carelessly pulled out the keys for his apartment, and unlocked the door in a steady pace; Seo had already left to study at her own home, saying, "I'm sure it will be rude to add even more burden to your home". MC and (Name) were busy discussing about the upcoming plans, regarding Anime. As much as Saeyoung wanted to listen in on the conversation, he just wasn't interested.
"Well, this evening was fun." Hyun said to him, grinning.
"Pssh, it wasn't really~." Saeyoung countered with a goofy smile. "You guys are going to keep the last bag of Honey Buddha Chips with you! What cruelness."
"You can eat all the chips you want," (Name) mumbled, applying a playful pout to appear on her features. "but at least save some for me!"
Hyun finally opened the door to the apartment and allowed everyone in. MC, the first person to run in, screamed about something regarding pillows and blankets. "Netflix ... and chill~!" she said with evil laughter.
Saeyoung immediately caught on with what she said and gagged. He knew that he wanted to remain a virgin for as long as he could, under strict circumstances that is quite relevant to his religious activities. Despite giving forth to owning an uncleansed mind, he knew himself to completely stay away from unpure scenarios ... such as this.
"MC, seriously." (Name) sighed. "Please."
"Well, we're watching a movie after all, aren't we?"
"That's true, but please. My mind is going places because of what you said."
"I'm sorry ... for doing so intentionally."
Hyun fluffed out the pillows, merely aligning them across the couch. Saeyoung moved to the side as the latter passed by, seeing him rushing back and forth as everyone else discussed matters amongst themselves. Was it really a sad thing to see Hyun working on everything, by himself?
No. Not really.
Saeyoung decided to assist Hyun by setting up the food. "Go ahead and pick the movie," said Saeyoung, grinning. And then he went to the kitchen.
-
The chosen movie was a typical Korean drama. Preferably directed towards romance and action, but still a drama. Saeyoung happily munched on the chips that were comfortably against his arms, feeling relieved to have the chips all to himself. MC and Hyun were already sleeping alongside each other, and (Name) was intent as she watched the scenes passing by.
Saeyoung couldn't help but smile when he looked at her. She was clutching onto an unopened box of tissues, with a bowl of popcorn on her lap; when the TV's screen flashed a bright light, even for a brief second, he saw her glistening eyes - determined with engrossed interest and admiration.
Suddenly, at that very moment, he saw a tear rolling down her cheek.
Unsure if he was just seeing things, he scooted closer and awaited for the next bright light to shine on her. It did. And he saw tears.
Slowly, he pulled her into a hug, laying his head on her own. He smiled unknowingly, laughing against her hair as she stiffened. He didn't know why, but he felt more comfortable upon her touch. Even if she wasn't doing it directly.
"Why are you crying?" he asked, ever so gently. Then he began to pet her head, back and forth, as if to sooth her. "The scene isn't even that sad."
All he heard was a deafening silence, threatening to slice apart any moment before he was able to think. He heard nothing but the noise around him, not within his personal bubble, nor within the circumference that he and (Name) both shared.
She replied, "It brings back memories."
Regardless of not knowing her exact interpretation of such, he proceeded to talk to her in a gentle voice, now and then glancing over to the scenes revealing before them.
An actor and an actress, under the heavy rain... told to say so and so, meant to recreate conflict and tension... The actress would bark back with a counter-statement, refusing to come to an agreement. Soon enough, the actor slaps her. The actress would then stumble back, pausing in disbelief, just until she began to scream and yell. And then she would scamper and hide, away from the dangers surrounding her supposed beloved.
(Name) began to shift to the side within that moment.
She said, "Memories are pretty unusual to being with, isn't it?"
Saeyoung merely answered with: "It honestly depends on what it is," before asking, "Why the question?"
(Name) only shook her head and leaned against his shoulder. He knew by then that she didn't want to reply, in which he came to understand. Al though, he couldn't help but frown as the tears began to spread onto the small portion of his clothes.
Nonetheless, he continued to sit there, wondering why those tears came to be.
And the movie continued to play, with or without the others watching.
