"Hi, Saeyoung. What's up?"
His grip on his phone tightened immensely, as if it were to relieve his stress. He was shaking, and so was his breathing. Shallow, nervous... Saeyoung seemed more than frightened to tell her these news.
However, with all of his courage, he spoke with clearness and concentration.
"Take care of Saeran for me."
"W-what? Why?"
"I...I'm leaving. I have to go somewhere. It's for the sake of Saeran, (Name), so you should understand."
Her smile, god, her smile. It was faltering just the slightest, as he had expected. The hurt in her eyes and the muscles contracting were heavy signs of sadness. He, too, was saddened of this dismissal, but he wanted this to be worth it.
"...Take this," (Name) had whispered, unequipping her cross necklace and handed it to him. He hesitantly accepted it, wearing it on and keeping it close.
"Thank you, (Name)."
Just last night he got a text from Rika, the person he always visited alongside Jihyun. They were pretty close, considering that she was very generous and kind to him, always showering him with friendly affection.
Rika: hey :)
Saeyoung: Oh, hi Rika! :D
Rika: heard about that case. :( sorry 'bout your mom. she sounds pretty cruel.
Saeyoung: lolol don't worry. I never liked her anyways. But I'm pretty surprised you knew about it. I thought it wasn't all that important.
Saeyoung: 😳
Rika: Haha, don't say that you're worthless. You're great. 😊
Rika: BTW, where are you anyways?
Saeyoung: I got adopted just recently.
Rika: whoa, really?
Rika: thats cool
Rika: I just wanna ask a question tho before I go.
Rika: Wanna join me and Jihyun in this new group I'm making? I'm offering you to be our specialized hacker.
Saeyoung: Pssh, a hacker? Sounds pretty great though. I'd happily take that offer cuz I'm considerably the best hacker in my school, lolz, but I can't. My brother needs me. He can't focus on his studies if I'm not around.
Saeyoung: 😅
Rika: oh, that's fine!
Rika: considering that problem... let's make a deal:
Rika: If you join our Association... We'll happily go ahead and pick your brother up from wherever he is. Just tell me the address and I'll be there. ☺ That way, you guys can both be happy and not miss each other. How's that sound?
Saeyoung: Of course! I'm counting on you, Rika.
Saeyoung: I guess I'll go now. Cya!
Saeyoung left the chatroom.
Rika left the chatroom. But looking back to it, Saeyoung felt as though that deal was just plain bonkers. What will his new parents think when he disappears? What will (Name) think?
He was more than sure that (Name) will be a-okay, considering that she has a load of friends back at home in the interwebs - as so she says. The happy, go-lucky young girl will be strong enough to shrug this off like nothing.
But his parents....almost instantly, his panicked expression reappeared. They would search for him, wouldn't they? Far and wide, thick and thin, through every nook and every cranny. He knew very well that they were caring parents and would do anything for a child.
Subconsciously, he turned around. Then he walked away, as if nothing had actually happened. And even before realization dawned to him, he happily admired the cool weather - with the chilly, breezing wind tickled painfully against his skin, making him feel alone. And when he exhaled through his mouth, it easily revealed his breath. A smile was brought up to his lips, only before it turned into that expected realization he should have felt just earlier.
Immediately spinning around, he searched for (Name) through his gaze.
She wasn't there.

Saeyoung drove away that night in Jihyun's car, stating how the stars were always bright and that a new journey shall begin through his hacking career. Despite that his skills are imperfect, they deemed satisfactory through the opinion of Rika, whom smiled knowingly and offered a workplace for Saeyoung in order to pass the time whenever he didn't have any tasks to do.
Taking a lonely sigh, he wondered if this really was worth it.
Saeran will be there with him soon enough, and they will both be happy. Even if life with their new parents was extravagant, filled with joy and tranquility, the thought of having their mother in jail for a limited time was concerning. She could be anywhere. She could be under their noses, cursing them the worst of deaths.
If they ran away even farther, surely, Saeran and him will be able to stop worrying about their past, and Saeyoung wouldn't be judged for his future. After all, seeing how his parents are worried about his expected career, Saeyoung didn't know whether or not they would fully accept him for that.
Saeyoung was obviously unaware of what he was being led to. And with this two hour drive to who knows where, he arrived to his sole purpose: To begin a new life, away from the final grasps of his past - and to start all over from the beginning with his effective hacking knowledge.
