Chapter Five

*Three months since the night Ben hit Riley and they broke up*

**Jai’s POV**

It’s been roughly three months since Riley left Ben and he hit her, she’s back to being herself mostly, I mean she’s a little less trusting of new people and more careful in general which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I just wish she didn’t have to go through this, although we have grown a lot closer even though we were pretty close before. She’s even getting better with being by herself again.

**Riley’s POV**

It’s been three months, I’m seventeen now and I’ve been single for three months. The rumours have died down. The nightmares of that night with Ben have pretty much stopped and he’s stayed away. I’ve grown even closer with everyone especially my brothers and Daniel; for some reason Daniel always knows how to make me smile. I’ve stopped going to school and I’m back surfing and skating and just being happy; I never realised how much I gave up to be with Ben. I’ve even got two tattoos now; I’ve got “Felicita, crepacuore e tuttoo il resto” on the underside of my right wrist and on the left side on my ribs just under my bra line I have the quote “God didn’t promise a life without pain, struggles and hardships but he did promise he will give you the strength to get through them”. I’ve also decided that I want to become a tattoo artist. It’s crazy how life changes; I realised that my art is my passion and it makes me happy so why not use it to make people happy and just like me, it may help them get through things. I finally feel as if I can be happy again and I can see my future again – a different one but a better one.

**Ben’s POV**

She thinks she can get away from me that easy. I told her cops don’t scare me. No one leaves me the way she did. I will get her. I will make her pay. Those brothers of hers can’t always be around; I’ll just have to wait and continue to watch her…
