Chapter Twenty Five

**Riley’s POV**

Today I only have one tattoo appointment; it’s a quiet day which is kind of nice. I am working later on tonight at the bar.

My client, Devon has arrived. He’s getting a skull done. While I am tattooing him, he talks about how he’s just moved to town to work on a fishing boat and he flirts with me. I finish the tattoo and there are no other clients waiting. Bill and Hannah picked up on Devon’s flirting; once he left Hannah and Bill both looked at me and just shook their heads.

Hannah said “You do realise he was flirting with you , right?”

“Yeah I know” I replied

“Well why didn’t you flirt back then?” she asked

“I don’t know I just didn’t want too”

“C’mon its not like you are attached”

“I know I am single but I have two kids. Guys my age don’t want to date people like me” I said truthfully

“Don’t be so quick to judge. Not every guy is like that” she responded

“Yeah. I guess. Anyway I have to go, I have a shift at the pub tonight and have to check on the boys. Bye Bill and Hannah” I said leaving

I left the tattoo shop and walked home.

“Hi boys” I smiled as I saw Rocco and Ezra drawing at the table

“Mummy” Rocco and Ezra said in unison

I walked towards them hugging and kissing them each. I then walked over to Sal and hugged her. I got ready for work at the bar. I had dinner with Sal and the boys and then put the boys to bed after I bathed them and read them a story.

I got to the bar and it was really busy. I started serving immediately. I had been working for about an hour non-stop when a familiar voice sounded.

“Hey, what can I get you?” I asked

“Beer please” he replied

I looked up and saw Devon

“Sure” I replied starting to pour the beer

I handed Devon the beer and took his money.

“So how does a beautiful girl like you end up as a tattooist and a bar tender?” he asks

“A jobs a job” I replied plainly

“So can we maybe have a drink together?”

“Maybe. Sometime.” I said as I went to serve other patrons.

I finished a few hours later and went straight home. I was exhausted, I said ‘goodnight’ and ‘thanks’ to Sal then checked on the boys who were sleeping peacefully; I then curled up in bed.
