Chapter Twelve

**Riley’s POV**

We pulled up at the house and Beau said “Right, we’re here”. I looked at the house and saw the beach in the background and felt a huge smile grow on my face. I started moving, trying to get out from my squished position in the car, in the midst of my excitement and trying to get out of the car, I practically climbed over Luke and Daniel. I got out of the car, as did everyone else, I immediately grabbed my stuff and raced inside to dump it then I ran to the beach, I stopped and looked at the waves, assessing the surf. After standing, looking at the surf, for a few minutes, I felt myself being picked up and spun around; I looked up to see Daniel holding me, he started running towards the sea. I immediately said “Daniel, don’t you dare throw me in” but I was laughing so he didn’t really understand me. Before I could say anything else I was thrown into the water.

**Daniel’s POV**

We got to the house, I watched as Riley’s face lit up as she saw where we were, she started trying to free herself; she climbed over both me and Luke to get out of the car. I watched as she grabbed her stuff and raced inside. We all followed closely behind. She dumped everything on the floor and took off running towards the beach, then she suddenly stopped. All of us boys watched Riley. Luke said “Did we bring Riley or someone else?”, we all chuckled at him. I decided to race down to the beach. I reached Riley and lifted her up and ran towards the water, she started laughing. I heard her say “Daniel, don’t you dare throw me in”, I ignored her as she was laughing so much and I throw her into the water. Riley stood up and started running towards me, I knew she was going to try and wet me so I started running. I was running away when I fell, Riley ran up to me, made sure I was alright and helped me stand up. As I stood up, she jumped in my back. I started walking back towards the house as Jai stood holding towels and Beau, Luke and James’ stood smiling and laughing.

**Jai’s POV**

I stood with Beau, Luke and James as we watched Riley and Daniel muck about on the beach. Riley was smiling and laughing; it was so good to see her happy again. Daniel piggy-backed Riley back to the deck. I handed them a towel each.

“Have fun?” Beau asked as he smirked

“Yeah, its great” Riley replied giggling slightly

“Ok, why don’t we get a bonfire ready and have a chill night?” I suggested

“Yeah”, everyone said in unison except Riley

“Riley?”, I asked

“Yeah” she replied quietly

“What are you thinking?” I asked

“Lets have the bonfire! I want to go night surfing; the conditions are perfect. I’m going to get changed and grab my board.” She said then went into the house.

“ok let’s get this bonfire going” I said to everyone.

**Riley’s POV**

I raced inside to get changed and grab my surfboard. I changed into a navy blue, red and white striped bikini and put a pair of denim shorts and a sleeveless hoodie over top. I grabbed my board and headed down to the beach. The boys had started the bonfire; I walked over to them, I put my board down and sat down next to Luke. We sat talking for a while then I noticed that the sun was starting to set. I got up and took off my shorts and hoodie. I checked my belly-button piercing then grabbed my board; I headed out into the surf.

**Beau’s POV**

I watched as Riley headed out to the surf. She kept paddling and catching waves. I haven’t seen her surf in such a long time; I forgot how good she was. All of us boys were sat around the bonfire watching the sunset and Riley surf. She was so happy, I know it was the right decision to come here. I noticed Luke had his camera out and was taking photos.

Riley had been out in the surf for while; she came in just as the sun finished setting. The rest of the night was amazing; we spent the night around the bonfire talking and laughing.

**Luke’s POV**

Seeing Riley smile again makes me happy. I got so many great shots of her surfing and the sunset.

**Riley’s POV**

It’s been an amazing night. The bonfire and surfing was great. I was sitting on my board waiting for a decent wave when I was surfing; I looked at the sun as it was setting. I finally felt this sense of peace wash over me. I don’t feeling scared like I do when I’m at home. I feel like me again in a way.
