Chapter Twenty Nine

*TWO WEEKS LATER*

**Riley’s POV**

It has been two weeks since I told Bill and Sally that the boys and I are going back home to Melbourne; it has been crazy trying to sort everything out. Everything is finally ready though; I have a job, a house and even a day-care for the boys all organised. I’ve been packing everything too; a moving truck is coming tomorrow and taking everything to our new house in Melbourne. I am going to drive with the boys, make it a road-trip. The boys are excited too. I am ready to return back to Melbourne and to my family. I’ve even dyed my hair back, so I am brunette again with highlights, its still shoulder length though.

Right now, Rocco, Ezra and I are heading to the pub to say goodbye to everyone as we are leaving as soon as the truck is ready tomorrow.

We got to the pub and everyone was there. There was a lot of chatting and toasts. Sal told me I should say a few words.

“Hi everyone, so I would just like to say a few words. So first off, thank you all for coming. When I came to this town, I was a scared kid and now I’m leaving all grown up. Billy, Sally you two have been so amazing, and I cannot and will not ever be able to thank you enough. They say it takes a community to raise children and with Rocco and Ezra that saying became reality. I’d be lost without all of you. This town gave me a sense of hope and it allowed me to heal myself. I’ve lived here for nearly three years and I hate to leave but it is time. Thank you all for everything.” I finished just as I started to tear up.

We spent the rest of the evening saying goodbye to everyone individually. It was sad leaving everyone in this town but it was time and it is what is best for Rocco and Ezra.

*THE NEXT DAY*

I was up really early with the boys finished getting everything ready; packing the bedding away and getting the car all packed. We had breakfast with Bill and Sal as a final goodbye. The moving truck arrived at nine and started loading all the furniture and boxes in to it. By ten, the truck was loaded and had left; I said my final goodbyes and got the boys in the car.

I started driving out of town with Rocco and Ezra; I drove past everything. I was sad but I know that going back to Melbourne was the best thing. It is a five and a half hour drive to Melbourne.
