Chapter Thirty Four

**Riley’s POV**

Rocco, Ezra and I are on our way to Mum’s for a barbeque, lots of our family and friends are going to be there. Its nice to be back in Melbourne, this past week has been really busy but really good. I’m starting work on Monday and the boys start at day-care. I’m a little nervous but I know the boys will be fine.

We arrived at Mum’s and I helped her set up and organise a few things while Beau, Luke and Jai played with Rocco and Ezra. People soon started arriving. It was good to catch up on everything with everyone.

**Daniel’s POV**

I need to ask Riley about Rocco and Ezra, I need to ask who their father is. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, the dates kind of match up but I’m not one hundred per-cent sure. If they are mine then I will do whatever I can to help. I just don’t know though. I don’t want to make her uncomfortable either so I will have to wait until she is on her own. Until I can ask her, I’m just going to have fun at this barbeque. Yay lahme!

**Riley’s POV**

The barbeque is chill, everyone is chatting away. Rocco and Ezra are playing with a soccer ball, I decided to go join in with them, well I just started picking them up and spinning them around or passing the ball or tickling them; the boys kept laughing. Daniel soon came over and started kicking the ball around. It is lovely watching the boys with Daniel, they are so happy here. We’d been playing for about an hour when the boys had enough of soccer. They were really tired, it was time for their nap.

“Rocco, Ezra, how about you go have a nap?”

Ezra nodded as I held him while Rocco yawned and nodded. I headed for the house with both the boys in my arms.

“Is it time for a nap?” Mum asked

“Yeah”

“They can go in my room” Mum said

“Thanks, I’ll be back soon” I replied

I walked into the house with Rocco and Ezra and into Mum’s room. I put the boys sown and started reading them a story; half way through the story they were both asleep. I got up and walked out of the room and into the kitchen.

I stood in the kitchen getting a glass of water when Daniel walked in and shut the door behind him.

“Hi”

“Hi Riles, did the boys go to sleep?”

“Yes, out like a light and it only took half a story. I guess all the soccer wore them out.”

“They are good little players” he chuckled

“Yeah, its good seeing them have fun.” I smiled

“Riley, are they mine?”

“Daniel…”

“C’mon Riley”

I didn’t know what to say. I wanted so badly to tell him but I just couldn’t bring myself to tell him, it felt wrong to just land this on him.

“Riles, that night, I know I was your first and I know we didn’t use protection. I know I told you and I know we agreed to forget about that night but I never forgot.”

“Daniel…”

“Riles, are they mine? If they are I promise to do everything I can to help and support you and them.”

I began to tear up. I tried to hold my tears in but I couldn’t. A couple of tears slipped out. Daniel lifted his hand up to my face and wiped my tears away.

All of a sudden, Beau burst through the door.

“What’s going on? Riley are you ok?” Beau asked

“Are you sure?” Beau asked

“Yeah, just catching up. I’m going to check on the boys.” I said before leaving the room.

The rest of the day and late into the night was spent talking and laughing. It reminded me of that night when we had the bonfire. I finally felt happy and content; being home was where I needed to be, its where I wanted to be for my sake and the boys.
