Chapter Nineteen

**Riley’s POV**

It’s crazy that I have been here for seven weeks. The locals have been incredible, I have met so many of them. Its also been great to start my tattoo apprenticeship; I love being able to do a variety of drawings and see it on peoples skin. I have also been working night shifts at the local pub.

**Bill’s POV**

Riley is so talented; in the past few weeks I have seen her skills develop. She is going to be an amazing artist once she is fully qualified. My wife, Sally loves her too; Riley’s settled in so well.

**Sally’s POV**

Riley is a great girl. She is so happy. She’s great with customers and she’s so helpful. She is so excited about tattooing and she is a good barmaid. It is nice to have someone young around again. I know Bill is really excited about having her as an apprenticeship.

**Riley’s POV**

I have been feeling kind of weird lately, I guess I am just adjusting to all the changes. I have been working a lot lately but its good. I work at the tattoo shop Monday to Saturday 9 to 6 then I work at the pub Wednesday to Saturday 6:30 to 11 and Sundays 10 to 1. I also help Sally to open up every morning before going to the tattoo studio.

Today is Sunday and I am working at the bar with Sally. I am not feeling that great today. Even Sally noticed, she asked “Are you feeling ok, Riley?” “Yeah, I just think I am tired. I’m ok though, thanks” I replied. “No you’re not. I think you should go visit the doctors tomorrow” she said. I finished work just after one. I decided to get some fresh air and go for a walk on the beach. I’d been walking for roughly twenty minutes when I decided to sit down and have a rest; I sat for about an hour before heading back to my house. I spent the rest of the day drawing and resting.

I got up on Monday and went to help Sally get ready for the opening. I walked into the pub and Sally and Bill were eating breakfast.

“Morning” I said

“Morning” they replied

“Have you had breakfast yet sweetie?” Sally asked

“Umm…no but I’m not hungry. Thanks though”

“You really should eat. At least a piece of fruit or some dried toast. But you don’t have too” Sally said

She went onto say “Oh, I made an appointment for you at the doctors, just for a check up. Your appointment is at 4:30 today.”

“I can’t make that, I have work” I replied

Bill said “no, its ok, your health is important.”

“ok thank you” I said

The day went pretty fast; I spent most of it drawing and doing portraits. Before I knew it, I had to leave for my doctors appointment.

I got to the doctors office and checked in.

“Hi, I am Riley Brooks and I have an appointment at 4:30 with Doctor Julie Simmons”

“Yes, ok Riley, could you fill out this form and the doctor will see you” Steph, the receptionist replied

I sat down and filled out the form, it was pretty basic, all I had to fill in was my contact details and tick a few boxes. I handed it back to Steph and sat back down.

My name was called and I was taken through to the doctors office.

“Hi Riley, I’m Julie, can I just get you to sit on the bed?” she said
