The rest of the day yesterday, I kept trying to forget about Harry. At first he seemed like someone different who cared since he helped get those guys away from me. Then he just went ahead and underestimated me, probably thinking I was just a helpless girl. The way he also smirked and almost laughed seeing me stand up for myself.

Today I would just forget about that whole incident while working. It was now Thursday so I had to complete my shift at Dairy Queen. Today was also Riley's birthday and he was turning 19, but they were gonna throw a party on Saturday instead. It was only eleven twenty in the morning and I was cleaning up the tables from breakfast, there weren't many people either.

Hours went by,taking orders, which I despised, and cleaning. I honestly don't know how I still have this job since there's always at least one complaint about how rude or unkind I can be. Those usually come in in the mornings, and anyone could understand as to why I act that way so damn early in the mornings listening to little kids screaming and begging. I always liked to be neat and have things organized though, and that's possibly why the manager still keeps me around.

When it finally reached around two o'clock, the lunch rush hit and families and groups of teens came in filling up the tables. One specific group, was a few friends I had from the west side of town, so they were the upper class friends, who I went to school with. I took in a breath, took out my notepad and pen and walked to their table.

There at the table, sat Diane, same age as me, with light natural red hair that went just down her shoulders, and her boyfriend John, typical popular football player. Along with them on the other side of the table were their friends Dave, another football player for our school, Randy, and Diane's friend Marcia.

"Hey coolcat ." Said Diane as I stood there waiting to take their orders.

I smiled back at her and the way she still called me by that nickname. "Hey Diane." I look over to the others and nod before saying hi to them too.

"So can I start you guys off with something to drink?" I ask

"How bout a beer?" Spoke John.

Diane looked over at her boyfriend and playfully smacked his arm then smiled. "Don't mind him, but I'll have cherry soda." Marcia nodded and said she'd have the same thing.

"Fine, I'll take a Coca Cola then." John said

"I'll take one too my lady." His friend Randy said winking at me. I simply rolled my eyes and waited for Dave to order, and he said he'd just take a lemonade.

When I finished writing those down I was gonna turn to go back when Diane spoke up. "Hey Amelia, we really haven't hung out a lot. This whole summer and we've seen each other, like what, four times maybe? The break is soon gonna end and we should really hang out."

At first I'm not sure what to say but after feeling all eyes on me I decided to just answer quickly "yeah you're right, but with work and everything, "

"How about tomorrow then? The sooner the better."

She was real quick to think and I figured why not, since I don't work tomorrow and Riley's party isn't until Saturday.

Diane quickly says something to John and he slightly nods "perfect!" She smiles " Okay so a couple of Johns friends and him are throwing a party tomorrow over down by where that guy Matt lives, you remember him don't you?" Memories escalate their way back into my head. Matt. Yes I knew who he was. He was close friends with Ashton. Kinda like brothers. "You should come with us!" Diane adds on.

"I don't know." Is all I can say.

"Think about it, but I must know by tomorrow during the day, that way we can come pick you up."
